Today is my One Month Surgiversary!!!
I started this journey when i attended my first WLS seminar on July 24th in Birmingham, AL. I wasa very excited about the information and made an appt. with Dr. Miles the following week. He said I looked real good and could operate on me as soon as i got my labs drawn and a medical clearence letter form my PCP. Then I got a call the next week they had an opening for me on Aug. 25th. I said "Ill take it!" I spent one night in the hospital and had a swallow test the next morning. As soon as Dr. Miles saw the results he gave me the ok to get packin and head back home. The first 2 weeks were hard physically and the third and fourth weeks were hard emotionally because i was goin through my first stall that lasted form 9-12 to 9-21!! I have since started to lose again and have reached a total weight loss of 30 POUNDS in my first month post-op!!! Dr. Miles said I need to lose all my excess weight in the first 6-7 months and then work on maintenance. So i have 5-6 months to lose 60-70 lbs. I know in the next few months i wont lose as much or as fast but im still looking forward to buying new pants. Unfortunately i havnt had to yet, but SOON!!!
