Hi:
My name is Rita and I had the Lap Band Surgery Sept. 4, 2007. I am 49 years old and for the first time in my life, I feel like I am on the right path to weight loss. It has been a long road. So far I have lost 23 pounds and it feels great.
My insurance denied me the first time around because I was borderline. My BMI was 35 and my weight was 205, which was a lot for me.
I had to repeat two of my tests because my year ran out; as you know all of the tests must be within one year. After that, I had a sleep study and it was not good. The Dr's office resubmitted the claim to the insurance and this is what it took for the insurance to approve me. It seemed to take a lifetime, but it was well worth the wait.
I am married to a great man, his name is Roger and he is also 49 years old. He is a work-aholoic. 
We like to go Motorcycle riding and boating, but with him working alot, there is not enough time.
I enjoy meeting new people and I am so excited that I joined the obesity website.
