199!!!! 199!!! 199!!! 199!!!

Feb 14, 2011

MY FIRST GOAL!!! 199 !!!!!!  As all of you know, especially if you're over 200, the biggest thrill of all is breaking that 200 pound barrier!  I started this journey at 242 pounds...at least that's the one I was at at the bariatric center.  I actually think I was up to 250 at one point.  Anyhow...I am almost 9 weeks out of surgery and I finally hit the 199 mark!  I weighed myself at 5:30am.  My husband and I were laying in bed talking about the day...and I thought, "I'm just going to get on the scale and see where I'm at" because I had hit 200 the Friday before.  When I saw the 199 I started a dance.  We high fived...I couldn't stop laughing and smiling.  It is just such a big deal for me!  I haven't seen the "100's" in ten years.........and I swear I will NEVER see the 200's ever ever again!!!

Ok.........off to the gym...with a big smile on my face!!!!

HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY!!!

"I Can't Believe This Is Really Happening!"

Jan 07, 2011

Hi Everyone!

My name is Breigh. I am 57 years old and just had the bariatric RNY Bypass December 8, 2010.  My presurgery weight was 242 whopping pounds!  It was horrifying for me.  But, I am so happy to say that I am 4 weeks post surgery and hit the scale at 210 today!!  I am just blown away by this!  I have joined the gym with a couple of friends (one who has also had the surgery recently) and have one full week behind me. I find that I am actually enjoying it BECAUSE I AM LOSING WEIGHT AND SEE RESULTS.  What a difference it makes for your mindset.  My big hope is to see the 190's within the next month!  I haven't been under 200 pounds in almost 10 years!! What a sad, shameful, embarrassing 10 years it's been, too.  I couldn't look at myself in the mirror below the neck naked. I am embracing my body now. Watching it melt. Feeling hope for the first time in YEARS. I already feel better and can't wait to get healthier and healthier.  I find myself smiling alot more now.

Congratulations to all of you out there that are taking this journey with me.  It's amazing..but certainly not the 'easy way out' that so many people may think.  It's a great tool to get your inspiration going!!  And I am INSPIRED!!!!!

SURGERY!!!

Dec 03, 2010

Next Wednesday, December 8, 2010 will be the official beginning of my new life.  I am excited, anxious,..really anxious.  Very frightened of the surgery and the anesthesia.  And, of course, any other major problems that can occur during surgery and after.  However, I joined the gym again today...worked out for an hour...and have been walking to get ready for the big event.

Here goes!!!!!!!!
