Today I am officially 75lbs. down from my beginning weight. My 9 yr old weighs 75 lbs., y'all!
What's so funny about this journey is you think you'll be floored when you hit under 200 or lose 50lbs or your BMI is 35 or your fat percentage is under 50. But it really hasn't been about losing for me (and I know how extremely corny the next part is going to be...) it's been about gaining!
My face broke into a smile when I gained the ability to see my collar bone again. When I gained definition in my face. When I gained the ability to sit in the vet's office chair and had ROOM TO MOVE AROUND. People, I can actually see my "area" again without having to hold my breath, suck in my gut and lift my fat rolls. I mean, I can just look down and see it.
What I'm saying is...it's the little gains, not the big losses, that are going to make you the most happiest on this journey. TRUST ME.
I have been obese my whole life and have lost and gained WEIGHT for a period of over 25 years.
When I see the scale go up or down, I'm like, ehhhh. But, when I look in the mirror and I, ME, I can actually SEE and APPRECIATE the difference....man, that's when the biggest smile comes on my face.
Keep on keepin' on. brothers and sisters.
