Gettin' back on the wagon
May 26, 2011
Sittin' here puttin' down same humble, plain old dry-ass chicken to test my true sleeve capacity. And I have got to lay off these carbs. I've been putting down 60 - 90 carbs a day for the last week probably. My monthly visitor came yesterday and it's really been messing with my head. All I want is carbs, carbs, carbs. I am tired of meat and salad. I've gotta get back on the wagon. My calories still have not been over 1200, but today I was up about .4 lbs from yesterday. It may just be water weight and all, but it's enough to scare me back into rightstanding. I think. I have got to lose 8 lbs by June 18. That was my goal for Cody's wedding, and I've got to squeeze into that ugly dress. Well, I finallyjust barely got it zipped Sunday, but it has to be WITHOUT back cleavage for the wedding! Go team!

Scale can't make up its mind
May 18, 2011
So when I weighed this morning (I always weight 3 times back to back), I could not get the scale to agree on a weight. So I must have weighed 10 times. It said 185.4, 184.5, 183.8 I think, so I just decided to go with the highest weight to be on the safe side.

Finally back home and to my scale!
May 17, 2011
Well I woke up at home this morning for the first time in more than a week and got to weigh myself on my own scale. I was 185.6 lbs today for a total loss of 38.9 lbs since starting pre-op diet on March 8. Even though it may sound stupid, I really think I am going to take my scale with me from now on when I travel. I can't stand being away from it that long!

2 month surgiversary (well 2 days late!)
May 17, 2011
My 2 month surgiversary was actually on 5/15 and today is 5/17.Well, I would love to give you weight here but I haven't seen a scale in a week! That's right - I've been away from home for a whole week now. In Chattanooga last Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, then Baxter/Cookeville on Friday, Sat, and Sunday, and now back in Chatt with Paul. I do have good news for today - Dr. Grisham's office called and said my vit D level was up to 40 now (previously 24 and 23) so now I can do maintenance of 2000 IUs vit D daily. I wonder if it's weight loss? I read that vit D being fat soluble has to saturate all the fat tissues first. Now I have less fat! I do feel better - fatigue has not been around for at least a couple weeks now - keeping a record. However, it has a tendency to come and go, but I hope it's gone for good! I had been low carbing it most days and I just felt hungry or got hungry soon after meals. Yesterday, I got sick of meat, cheese, and lettuce and wanted some carbs. I had a pack of those Lance whole grain crackers with cheese and I got satiated for once in a long time! I'm not not talking about full, because I have reached full without feeling satiated many times. Satiation is where I just plain don't want any food. It's a nice feeling because I can think about something besides food.

Finally!
May 06, 2011
I have finally lost some more weight after trying so dang hard. I kind of just took a break for a couple of days. I didnt' go hog wild, stayed low-carb, but I was out of town and I did not count calories and I ate when I was hungry instead of starving myself to stay under calorie count. When I got on the scale this morning I had finally lost 2.2 lbs since Tuesday! I am now 189.8 for total weight loss of 34.7 lbs since starting pre-op diet. Sometimes with me it just takes a break for me to lose. When I am trying really hard it seems like I can't lose after a while, just at first, though. Maybe I was in starvation mode from eating too few calories according to myfitnesspal.com! I just have to break the cycle for a little while to get my metabolism moving again. Unfortunately my body is very efficient like that, made to survive famine. I've got a cold right now from the kids! Temp of 99 last night probably helped burn off some more calories, too!

6 weeks post op
Apr 26, 2011
193 lbs today for a total weight loss of 31.5 lbs since starting pre-op diet. Had a stall there back a week ago until I started logging calories, etc - I didn't realize how much I was consuming. Now that I am consciously working to stay under 800 cals per day I am losing quite rapidly. Had my first alcohol over the weekend. It was red wine and after just a couple sips it hit me hard and I was pretty buzzed! I don't know why it is like that now! Also had my first sips of carbonation since before surgery. Took a break on Easter Sunday and ate whatever I wanted and drank with my meal, too. It was really good (Chocolate pie :)but I had a complete sugar crash afterward! Luckily it did not set me back any!

5 weeks post op
Apr 20, 2011
196.4 lbs today. Total weight loss is 28.1 lbs since starting post op diet. I don't seem to be losing as fast as before :( . I'm really having to watch it now - this sucks. Yesterday I was able to eat more than I thought I should have been able to and it worries me. I was very hungry yesterday. However, I ate one deviled egg at lunch today and was pretty much full - go figure? I started tracking my calories and exercise on myfitnesspal.com yesterday. I think I had actually hit another stall 2 weeks from the last one! Why can I eat more at some times than others??? Let's keep doing it, not close to done yet!
