Hello! Here's my story in short... I just turned 39 years old and was born and raised in California. I have been married to my high school sweatheart for the past 20 years. He is the most wonderful husband in the world and has been my biggest supporter through this WLS journey. We have two wonderful children (son 17/ daughter 6).
I've struggled w/weight my whole adult life and after years of yo yo dieting and then quitting smoking 9 years ago and using food as means of coping with stress, I was left with 125 lbs extra. A whole extra person - wow what an eye opener to realize that you are twice the size you should be. Yikes. That was what finally made me start looking into WLS. Like so many others, I started out looking at RNY, but quickly found VSG and decided it was the right surgery for me.
I'm writing this almost 3 weeks out and I feel so fortunate to have the sleeve. I finally feel hope that as the weight is dropping, I will be able to keep it off.
I'm excited about what the future holds and look forward to living every day to the fullest!
