I'm 51 years old. I've been married for 31 years to a supportive husband and am the mother of three adult children. I also have four adorable grandchildren. I guess my story is like most, I was an overweight child who became an overweight, obese adult.
I am so glad that I have learned about lapband surgery and have started the journey to become healthy.
08-22-2007, my journey started when I attended the seminar at Silver Cross Hospital with my husband.
09-28-2007, my first visit with Dr. Joyce. I needed to start a six month supervised diet, get five years of medical records showing weight and any co-morbidities. I also needed to schedule an appointment with a cardiologist, pulmonologist and a psych evaluation.
10-01-2007, I started walking in the mornings.
10-02-2007, Weigh-in #1 and visit with the nutritionist. Lost 1# since the first visit. Total loss.....1 pound
10-03-2007, started my 1200 calories diet.
10-08-2007,called for copies of my medical records.
10-09-2007, went to PCP to sign release for records.
10-09-2007, psych evaluation
10-17-2007, pulmonologist appointment.
10-17-2007, cardiologist appointment.
11-01-2007. weigh-in #2. Lost 7.5# Total loss.....8.5 pounds
12-03-2007,weigh-in #3. Lost 8# Total loss.....16.5 pounds
01-03-2008, weigh-in #4. Lost 2.5#. Total loss.....19 pounds
02-04-2008,weigh-in #5. Lost 3#. Total loss......22 pounds
03-03-2008,weigh-in#6. Lost 1.5# Total loss....23.5 pounds
By the end of this week my paperwork will be sent in for approval. Hopefullt it will not take to long
to get an approval. The Dr. is booking surgery dates for the end of April. Hope mine will be then too!
03-11-08 I'm approved! Surgery date will be 04-08-08. Yeah!!!!!!
