Hello. My name is Carrie I am married with one son. I work in medical billing. I have been overweight/ obese all of my life. I was thinking of doing the gastric bypass for years but I was always afraid. When I heard of the Lapband I was so excited because this seemed less invasive. I'm scheduled for the Lapband on 11/21/06 but I still have to get the time approved at work. I have to get the surgery done before the end of the year because our insurance is changing and it won't cover bariatric surgery next year.
My husband is finally supportative! He was very nervous about the bypass too and would be very upset with me for even thinking about it. We are both excited now with the lapband. I want to be a better mother and just be around for him. I have high blood pressure, diabetes, and sleep apnea (just found out). I'm tired of living my life on the couch.
