Has any one had surgery in New Mexico?  I've heard that the surgery is suppose to be cheaper.  My concern is if the hospitals are up to code.  If the surgeon has been properly taught.  Any one have info on this?

Hi, everyone.  I hope everyone had a blessed Christmas and a good start to the new year.  Well, I missed the weight loss conference I was going to last month so I have to wait until the 18th of this month before the next conference is held.  But in the mean time I've been trying to learn all I can about the LapBand surgery.  I can't wait until I can get more concrete info. 

I've only told one person in my family that I would like to have this surgery.  I told my youngest daughter.  She wants to be a model and I've been taking her different places to help with her ambition to become a model.  I knew she would understand because appearance is alot about what she trying to do. I don't have any close friends because all I do is work and come home.  I've been busy raising my four girls and my little cousin.  I feel like I really need this surgery so I can begin living my life for me.  I'm ready to have some fun and be silly for a while.  I've been serious far to long. So I'm soliciting everyone for prayers that God will allow me to have this surgery and make the road to my destination an easy one.

I'm very new to this site.  I am considering wls.  I haven't been to a meeting yet , but I plan to go to one in January.  I'm 44y/o and a little more than one hundred pounds over weight.  I've been over weight all my life.  I want to have this surgery because I don't  want to wait until I'm in bad health.  Diabetes, hypertension, and heart related problems exist on both my mother and father's side of the family.  I want to give myself the best chance to live a long healthy life.  I've tried almost every diet out there.  I know I can't lose the weight by just dieting. 

The other reason I want to do this is because three of my four children are grown and I can now begin to take care of myself and do some of the things I would like to do.  I am divorced and have been for 5 years.  I am interested in meeting a gentleman that I can spend time with.

So, this is like a new start for me and I want to start of on the right foot.
