The first time I entered the doors of Freeman and Company Bariatric Surgery Center, I weighed 248 pounds. I had struggled with my weight my entire life and was in physical and emotional pain. Though I had a wonderful family and career, I was in despair because I carried the burden of obesity.
Then I met Dr. Freeman and his staff! I found them to be warm and compassionate. They were there not to judge, but to help me. They understood the pain I faced and were experienced in helping others overcome the battle of obesity.
I left the office that day with something I hadn’t felt in quite some time – HOPE!
The decision to have gastric bypass surgery wasn’t an easy one. I knew this would be a life changing event but I felt confident that I had found a wonderful physician and this was the right decision for me.
I had gastric bypass surgery on the morning of December 28, 2005. The weight began to melt away! Everyday wasn’t always perfect, but each day I came to feel better and better!
Today, I weigh 122 lbs. I went from a size 24 to a size 2. LIFE IS GOOD! I eat anything I want to eat but my portion size is much smaller. It’s great!
It has been an amazing journey! Each day, I offer praise to my Lord for the weight loss and for introducing me to Freeman and Company!
