Feeling ugly
Nov 29, 2009
I looked at pictures taken of me last week. Ugg...this weight loss makes me look older and haggard. (but healthier) I feel like I need a magic wand to turn back the hands of time!

upcoming surger
Jul 12, 2009
Well, I'm 3 days away from surgery. I'm so excited. I've been on the 2 week pre-op diet and I'm down 7lbs in 10 days. I went to the YMCA yesterday and I couldn't get over how much better I felt already.
I'm looking forward to losing this weight for GOOD and starting to really live my life to the fullest!
I'm going to my friend's house for some sun and swimming today.
I'll be back and let everyone know how my surgery goes.

AETNA POS

AETNA POS
I am currently on a 6 month supervised diet with my doctor. I have not seen a nutritionist yet. From what I read, Aetna seems impossible to deal with. I have always battled with weight. I am 5ft 5 1/2 and 243lbs. I was was recently diagnosed with mild sleep apnea. I thought for the past year 1/2 that I was having nocturnal panic attacks. (or that's what the dr kept telling me). It turns out that the sleep apnea is causing my oxygen saturation level to drop, which in turn is causing me to wake up due to heart palpitations (racing heart). I just started using cpap to combat that problem (ugg)
I have off the charts cholesterol/triglycerides and my blood sugar is always right at the top of what is considered "normal". (110). I don't have high BP or any other co-morbidities.
I have been told by bariatric nurse that she doubts I'll get qualified. I'm so disheartened. My doctor doesn't seem to think I'll have a problem, but it's not his specialty either.
Does anyone have a story like mine that they can share? Should I be seeing a nutritionist as well as my family physician at this point?
