I am finally approved!  D. Enochs office called me this morning with the good news.  I have to have 1 more gallbladder scan and one diet consult.  Then I am ready for surgery.  What a battle.  I won!

I just got off of the phone with Dr. E's office.  They had a few problems getting some info from my doctor's office, but finally got it.  Last week, on the 13th they sent me to insurance.  Now I just have to wait.  I'm finally back at this step again.  I'm a little bit unnerved, but I know it's going to happen this time.  This wait is going ot kill me. :)

OMG...Clinton in Tammie Moore's office is the best thing since sliced bread.  I love him.  My psych appooint went as smooth as it could have possibly gone.  Dr. E's office should have the paperwork in 5 -7 days. 

My surgery consult was a breeze.  She gave me numbers that I could use as a goal, but to be honest I don't even remember them.  I just want to feel better!  They said all of my stuff looked great, and that insurance shouldn't be a problem. 

The only things I have left are my Upper GI and gallbladder ultrasound.  They are scheduled for next week.  The husband is going with me to a meeting Support Group meeting next Thursday.  

Today I'm going to finally meet with an Orthopedic doctor about my back.  Things are looking up.

My Nutrition appointment went well.  It wasn't much different than last time, just a little more information and suggestions.  Tuesday I see Dr. Enochs and Thursday is my Psych appointment.  Dr. E's office has all of my paperwork for insurance.  They have everything they need, so it should be a breeze.  I'm hoping this trend continues!

10 months later...I have finally completed my 6 month diet and have given my paperwork to Dr. Enoch's office for insurance approval.  This journey has taken a long time.  Hopefully this leg will be over soon and I will be on the other side.  It's been a struggle to get here.  Hopefully my life will be changing in weeks.  I'll update soon.

Lord have mercy.  My last doctor quit taking my insurance so I've had to start over.  A friend referred me to an amazing PCP.  He's changed all of my meds and has already ordered a slew of tests.  I have my orientation meeting on September 25th with Dr. Enochs!!!  Woo Hoo!!!  I'm so glad he ref'd me back to Dr. Enochs!

After my war with United Healthcare I went into a deep depression and my health got worse.  I've been officially diagnosed with diabetes and high blood pressure.  I have sleep apnea and have to use a CPAP machine, I have Fibromyalgia, and Degenerative Disc Disease and Arthritis in my back.  Gastric Bypass will help with 90% of my health problems.  I can't wait to feel better and stop taking so much medication.

My PCP, whom I love and I have officially started my 6 month diet. I have an appointment schedule for the WLS Seminar at Durham Regional for Feb. 15th. I am ready to go. I can totally wait 6 more months for a new me.

I was so heart brokern over my denial that I couldn't even come to OH.com for a while.  I was so shocked, it was like a huge slap in the face.  

So now I have new insurance and a new PCP.  Dr, Enochs takes my insurance but the hospital he is associated with doesn't.  Hopefully wtihin the next couple of weeks I'll have a referral to Duke and can start the process over again.  

All of my OH friends...You guys are looking great.  I can't wait to join you! 

I wrote a kick ass appeal letter and mailed it today.  They have 15 days to review my appeal and get back to me.  I mailed the letter certified so I'll know when they get it.  

I'm mad and I feel like I have to fight them for this.  If this letter doesn't work I'm going to talk to an attorney.  They're going to pay for this.  Period.

Now a magical exclusion has popped up on my insurance policy.  How freaking convenient.  I don't understand how I could call 4 times and my doctor's office twice and they failed to mention the exclusion for 6 months.  I cried for a good 2 hours on Thursday when I found out.  I'm tired of fighting for everything.  Now I have to start the appeal process.  I'm just not that happy right now.  My Fibromyalgia has been flaring up and I think my pre-diabetes has turned into diabetes.  On a good not by son's birthday party is on Saturday and we're having homemade ice cream and pizza.  It's a little counter productive but I need to celebrate something.
