Like many others I have struggled with my weight for as long as I can remember. I started life weighing 3lbs. According to my Mother I was always sick and scrawny, until I had my tonciles removed when I was 4yrs old. From then on I gained weight and I haven't stopped yet.
I tried to get wls 5 or 6 years ago but my employer (a hospital) a written exclusion in their ins. policy. Against anything concerning weightloss, surgery, medication, hospital diet plans etc. everything!! One would think that a hospital would know better! So I dropped the idea. I decided to make the best of it and not think about surgery. Not the best idea I've ever had! My weight went up from around 300lbs to 345 and now I have diabetes to add to the list of my medical problems.
Last year I found this web site. I never truly gave up on surgery but I didn't know how to proceed. You see I lost my job due to my health problem. So I went back to school to train for something that wouldn't be so physical. I now have an associate in Business Administration and one in Accounting. Still I can't find a job! Now not only do I not have a job I don't have any health insurance either. I have had to go on medicaid. I guess everything happens for a reason. Because of the information on this sight and reading everyone's profiles I am armed and ready to fight for what I want. I know that the only way I can acheive any significant weight loss is with wls. That is the only way I can improve my health.
