It has happened!

Feb. 3 was my surgery. I went in at 7:am, my surgery was scheduled for 9:am. I think I went back to the operating room at 10 something. The last person I saw was a friend of mine from church. It was truely comforting to have her there holding my hand. When I went from recovery to my room, my family was there. I couldn't talk much, my mouth was very dry and I could not drink anything for 24 hours. I had to do a swallow test. Later the nurse brought in some citrus swabs that was very nice. My recovery was a blur really, I was up walking at 8:30 p.m. then again at 4 am. I was released early which was nice. The whole hospital staff, my doctor, my family and friends have been awesome. I feel very blessed to have such a good experiance.

I am almost 3 weeks out and feel great. I am learning and with the help of my mentor Robin, I feel like I am doing really well.
