Almost 2 weeks
Nov 25, 2007
I can't believe that it's been almost 2 weeks since I was banded. I returned to work on Monday and things have gone really well. I've had a couple of days where I was pretty hungry but nothing like the "old" days. My next appt with the doc is Dec 28th. He told me that I could celebrate Christmas by starting solids
I can't wait - well, I'm going to try. I really want to move on and start on pureed foods now. The good thing is that I'm down a comfortable size!
Almost 1 Week
Nov 18, 2007
Well, it's been almost 1 week and I'm doing pretty well
The pain is a lot better and most of the "bloated" feeling is gone. It is easier to move around now, which is good because I have to go back to work this morning. It's easier to get the 48oz of water down in a day but it still takes a fair amount of time to get the protein shake down. It's not that I can't drink it, it's that I'm not hungry! It's amazing - may I say it one more time - I"M NOT HUNGRY
From what I'm reading on other's comment the hunger may come back as the swelling continues to go down but right now I'm enjoying it!

1st Day
Nov 14, 2007
Well, it's day one and I feel pretty good. I'm sore at the port site and the incision site but it's not too bad. I'm able to take in a fair amount of water without difficulty. I still have to get out and walk this afternoon when it warms up a little. I'm a little stiff so I think the walk will do me good - I'm just going to take it nice and slow. I haven't weight my self yet - thought I would give myself a day or two.
One week to go
Nov 07, 2007
I had my pre-op appointment with Dr Anderson and pre-registered at the hospital yesterday. Next Tues at around 7:30 AM my life will change! I can't believe it's almost here. This is something I've thought about for a couple of years and now I'm finally going to get it done.
Introduction
Nov 04, 2007
My story is no different from anyone else's on weight. I have won many battles with weight lose but I've lost the war! I have many reasons for having the lap band surgery but the main reason is my two g-daughters who mean everything in the world to me. I want to have a long life to continue spoiling them and watching them grow up. There are selfish reasons as well, of course. I want to sit comfortably in an airline seat. I want to cross my legs without grabbing the cuff of my pants to help pull up my leg. I want to go into Costco and buy clothes. Oh! and of course I want to be healthier!
My surgery is scheduled for 11/13/07 and I'm getting a little nervous. I've lost just over 30# since I've started this process in August. I was suppose to lose 26# so I've done pretty well. Like I told Dr. Anderson - if I could keep it up and off I wouldn't be seeing him. I would like to hear from others who have had or are going to have surgery, so please post!
