My story... Where to begin. I have been heavy my whole life. As a baby my grandmother quieted me with a pacifier dipped in Kings syrup (that is the thick heavy stuff that is pure sugar.) We always had huge family dinners. Every sunday the family would eat at my grandmothers and she would cook a feast so full of carbs it would give Dr. Atkins a heart attack! I was about 180 when I graduated from H.S. I got a job working second shift. Big Mistake!! I ate all night to help me stay awake! Then I moved to second shift. Another big mistake. I stopped at Burger king 2 nights a week around midnight for a Whopper!!! I ate because I felt that was all I had. Who is going to want a big fat girl. I went on Atkins and lost 60 pounds and gained 70 back! After all the years of yo yo dieting I finally turned 40 and said, ok, I want the surgery. I am very blessed because my husband stood behind me the whole way. As a matter of fact he works in HR and he was able to move me faster probably than if I didn't have him as a link.
January 2, 2008 I had Lap RNY. I don't think I regret it although it has been so much harder than I ever dreamed it would be. I know I can do it because I have see so many others on this site that have done it. If God is on our side, who can be against us?
God Bless!
