A little background
Sep 22, 2011
My story begings way back in March of 2009, I was told I had Fibromyalgia and went to see a doctor in Toronto.
He said I was just fat and needed to loose weight and that there was nothing wrong otherwise with my body, he sent a referral off to HRRH and I was to wait to hear from them.
I recived my information package in August and filled it out and sent it off. I then got my call in January 2010 and had my first appt. with the surgeon on Feb. 1st 2010 and was offered a surgery date of Feb. 26 2010!!!!!
OMG I couldn't believe it. I had all of my Appt.'s within the 25 days and had my surgery on the 26. I went into the whole process with an open mind and I was hoping that the doctor was right about it all being just weight related, But soon after I had my surgery I was diagnoised with Lupus and Fibromyalgia.
The one main way to treat Lupus is with NSAID's , but due to my surgery it's no longer an option....
I went on to become pregnant with my second daughter at 6 months post op!!! Huge surprise!!!! I was told for 4 years I could no longer have anymore children..... I have a 6 yo daughter that I was able to get pregnant with when I had used Xenical previously.
I had a good pregnancy but I didn't gain very much weight only 18lbs and I had a really hard time trying to keep the weight on, at 5 months pregnant I was taken off work due to the fact that I am a Personal Support Worker, It was better that I wasn't lifting and moving people while pregnant.
I went on to have my daughter in May of 2011 and have been enjoying her and family life ever since. In total I lost 140lbs and have been at my currant weight of 165lbs for a couple of months and I am very happy about how far I have come and I am very thankful for my RNY. I still suffer with Lupus and Fibromyalgia but I am making due the best I can.
I live with my husband, who I have been with for the past 12 years and our two beautiful daughters, I love life and I am enjoying being at home on maternity leave, for now.
Hope this gives you some insight to who I am.
