A new year begins!

Jan 02, 2013

Today is the 2nd day of 2013, I am planning on this year being a great year! I love my tool that I received on 5/22/12, to date I have lost 121 lbs, 40 prior to surgery and 81 since surgery. Sometimes I feel like I am losing slower than others, but other times I feel like I am losing faster than others, I have seen people post about their weight loss and it varies so much for all of us who had surgery around the same time. Therefore I see why we should not compare our journey to the journey of others.

I have many goals that I hope a achieve in 2013 here are a few of them:

Keep on the right track with my weight loss and eating habits, in order to continue to lose.

Hit Onderland! (looking forward to that day! only 32 lbs to go to enter the land of onderland!)

Be in onderland for my 1 year surgiversary!

Get to my goal by 2014 (notice I didn't say by my surgiversary? I want to hit my goals without setting myself up for failure)

Take compliment graciously! Rather than saying something like "thanks, but I still have a long way to go" I need to just say "thank you" and be done with it.

Continue to build my self-confidence, both in my career field and personally.

Continue with the organization of my house that I completed over my vacation! Love an organized house.

Obtain and new and higher position within my career field, I deserve more than I currently have.

Remain a life long learner!

Help others who are curious about WLS by telling them of my experience when/if they ask, encourage those that inquire to do lots of research before making their decision and understand WLS is a personal decision and should not be persuaded by others.

With all that being said, I know there are many more things I want to accomplish in this new year! So, here is to hoping everyone has a great 2013 and may all of us stay on track, utilize our tools, and achieve our goals!

Cindy

On this day I look forward to the future

Apr 16, 2012

Well today is my 48th birthday and I am very excited that during my 48th year I will begin a new healthier lifestyle; a couple of days ago it was Friday the 13th and for many this is a day that is associated with bad luck. However 4-13-12 this year was a great on for me because I received that very much anticipated phone call....I have a surgery date of 5/22/12..it seems so far away yet I know that it is not...and I feel like I have so much to do to get ready...for now I am looking forward to my nutritionist and dietician appointments on 4/20...I can't wait to be through surgery and  onto my new life of a healthier me!!...I want to live to be at least 100, so I can be around to see my grandchildren have children and maybe there children have children (I only have one grandbaby at this point and she is only 5 months old).....But my children were deprived of their grandparents pretty early in their lives and I plan to do all I can to stick around and be here for mine....

2012 is the year for me!

Mar 22, 2012

I started this journey a couple of years ago, but was not very successful for many reasons, 1) husband had a couple of surgeries and 2) I had a different insurance company that had so many hoops to jump through for so many months that I became very discouraged. However, now my company has changed their insurance carrier and there are not so many hoops to jump, so I began again this year. My status to date: I have been approved for surgery, I have taken all but one of my tests with my last test to be completed on Tuesday, then await a surgery date! I am very excited, even though those around me (that know anyway) are apprehensive...this is not due to my choice they are behind me, but they just cannot stand the thought of me going into surgery. I gues this stems from a huge scare I gave them a few years ago when I had to have a tumor removed, but thankfully it was not cancer as first susspected. Then because I rushed back to work too soon I caused myself to have a hernia which I had to have surgery to fix. I guess they know that I have a hard time taking it easy after surgery. However I have resolved to make this surgery my exception and make sure I get all the rest I need as I adjust to the new me and my new eating lifestyle. I am hoping to get a surgery date soon, wish me luck.
