Today I went to my last appointment that I had to go to before I meet with the Surgeon for the second time. The Endocrinologist, she asked me a bunch of questions about my family history and my eating habbits and previous weights. She told me everything looks good and she gave me a letter of reccomendation to give to the Surgeon when I see him on December the 8th. I am so anxious to get to htat appoinment and see what he has to say, hopefully if all goes well I will get a surgery date!

November 24th, from bad mood to emotional
Nov 23, 2006
Today I went from the bad mood I had about quitting smoking to an emotional wreck. Today is day 3 on the patch and I am a mess. I am weepy and a little bit depressed. I still have nicotine in my system but I think I was more addicted to the whole physical and emotional aspect of it. I miss going outside and having 5 min. to myself. I tried going outside to have my 5 min. without the smoking but it just made me mad . Oh well, hopefully it will get better soon, I am just praying that I don't break down before then and go buy a pack of cigarettes!! As far as the diet is concerned I think it is harder for me now that I quit, yesterday (thanksgiving) I pigged out at the potluck, but today so far all is well.
HAPPY THANKSGIVING
Nov 22, 2006
Happy Thanksgiving! Hopefully I will be able to control myself today at the Thanksgiving potluck, I did'nt do so well at the potluck on Sunday! Well, wish me luck and maybe I will be back to tell of how I did today later!
Bad Mood Today
Nov 21, 2006
Today I started the patch to quit smoking. I am really irritable today but I am hoping that it will only last a few days. I have been reading on other people's blog's about the process they went through as far as getting approved from the insurance and the Doctor. Here, it seems to be really backwards.First you see the surgeon and then he gives you a list of appointments to make and tests to do. After all that is done you see him a second time and then he tells you if he agrees to do the surgery. Then he gives you a surgery date and some paperwork to take to the insurance company. After that while you are waiting for your surgery date, you are still waiting to get approved by the insurance company. Has anyone else done it this way?? It seems to me the insurance should go first. . I am worried though about tomorrow being Thanksgiving and all, we are going to a Thanksgiving potluck at church, I tend to pig out at those sort of things!
Getting Started
Nov 21, 2006
Well, I started this journey about 2 years ago. I had decided I wanted to have WLS and actually had an appointment with my PCM to get a referral to see a surgeon when I found out I was pregnant. So that dream was on hold for a while. Just this past September when my baby was 9 months old I finally got to make it to that appointment. On October 3rd I saw the surgeon for the first time and he gave me a list of appointments to go to and things to do. So far I have gotten my Pysciatric Eval, blood and 24 hour urine done, endoscopy and will be seing an Endocrinologist on November 27th. My next appointment with the surgeon is on December the 8th. I am really excited about finally being able to start the process but I wish these appointments would come by faster, I hate waiting!!
