Southcrest Hospital

"Becki the director of the Bariatric floor is a god send. She checks in with each patient daily and makes sure that the nursing staff is living up to their reputation as an excellent provider of bariatric surgery facility. The nurses were stupendous and very knowledgable in their field of expertise. They are not afraid to ask if there is any doubt they are doing the right thing as far as your care is concerned. All patients should be never be afraid to speak up about the care that they are recieving. If they know that something does not work for them, speak up. This staff listens and responds to your requests and dislikes as far as care is concerned. The only person I did not relate to was the dietician who did not show up in my room until the day before my release. I needed guidance before not later in the diet as far as how much and what I should eat on the tray. The day of my release she showed up again and was somewhat helpful but when we left from the hospital, she was at a quick stop getting cigarettes and fast food. I really thought a dietician is more health crazy but I guess everyone is human. Overall Southcrest is clean, very well maintained, and the bariatric staff is one of the best I have seen."

Stephen C. Dobratz

"He is so nice and very respectful with the decision I have made. His office help is great and found appointments for me that weren't there before. I had to have the thalium stress test and noone had an appointment open in 2 days but their office got me one. He is a super guy with great manners. I will update this info once I have surgery to give you his hospital manners."

Haresh Ajmera

"He basically was more interested in where my family would be staying and pushed his brothers (I think he is part owner)Comfort Inn on me. That subject took over half of the time that I was in his company. I had to finally say we have other arrangements and no but thanks anyway."

David Hadley

"I just love doctor hadley. He is a wonderful attentive doctor who cares about his patients but his staff is something else. When I am having problems he tells me to call at a certain time the next couple of days and talk directly to him. Well I never get him and when I go back he asks why I never called and I tell him. He has replaced his nurse several times because of this. Dr. Hadley will go heaven and earth to find out what is wrong. I am having my doubts about my doctor since this bout with my gallbladder. I had chest pains for about 6 months, test, test, test everying ok. Finally did a nucleur gallbladder scan. Low refraction. So removed gallbladder but had an upper gi first. They said it was ok. 2 days after surgery spent 10 hours in emergency room with the same pain as before. I thought I was goin to die. test test Can't find anything and send me home with pain pills and still the pain. It subsided and returned a month ago. I was getting all records from anybody I had seen and found the test results for the upper gi. I have a spasm esophagus and after further investigation found out that that could mimic a heart attack. Just like I was feeling!! I called my doctor, he never had the report so I sent it to him. That was Monday and haven't heard from him since. I think I am changing gp's. My pain turned out to be a spasing spincter muscle called the spincter of oddi. They do an ercp and clip it and bam the pain is gone now for 2 months. Only drawback is that with wls I cannot have another done if the pain returns. OOPS"

Luis Gorospe

"I had my first consult which was a group thing. I know that it is easier to tell alot of people about a surgery than it is to tell just one. The consult from start to finish was about 3 hours. The office is small and we were really packed in there. Dr. Gorospe was very informative and seems to be a competent surgeon. He has up to date information. He really pushes to have a open rny. I don't think he likes to have a time consuming operation like the lap. He performs around 17 open and 1 lap per week. When it came to a one on one conversation all he really wanted to know is if you had any questions. I would compare him to a "door doctor" which my sister calls doctors who stand by the door and can't wait to get out of it. I know that our pcp is our main doctor but he never touched me, took blood pressure or anything. All his staff did was take insurance cards and a picture. You have to use their cardiologist, psyciatrist, and pulmonologist. He says it is because he wants someone he know and can get ahold of if something goes wrong. That kinda makes sense but I just had most of these test including the echo just 4 months ago. Oh Well. You don't even have to have another appointment with him until you see him in surgery. He knows that this is a last resort for most patients. Overall, in my opinion, I know he is competent or he wouldn't have the referrals from other patients who he has treated. I just wish that his one on one consult was more personable."
