Five months out and down 80 lbs. It's going slower than I thought it would, but it ia all still so amazing!

6/23/06 Here I am in a hotel in El Paso 4 days post op with my wonderful husband and two kids.  I'm sipping garlic chicken broth - never thought it would taste sooo good.  My journey got fast right at the end as I changed surgeons and my new surgeon was all ready for me.  In a matter of days after meeting him I was in surgery.  My beginning weight was 333 and when I see him in two weeks I'm sure I'll be down a few pounds :)  I'm trying not to weigh until then.  The worst part in regards to my body has been gas.  I read another person's profile who mentioned warm liquids and that really helps.  Also, while in the hospital I had drank some nice ice water - ouch!!!  Keep everything tempid to begin with or you'll cramp your little pouch.  We head back home (a 7 hour drive) on Sunday and return to our routine's.  I thank God for this journey!
