WOW

Oct 25, 2012

Its been a while since I have posted on here. After having my panniculectomy in March, I got married to the most wonerful man. We have since then adopted our dog Manda. Life would not be the same without her. I have to admit that I have gained about 50lbs in the past 3 years. I don't walk for an hour anymore and I don't have the energy level that I had before, I think it may be a combination of not eating correctly nor exercising like i did. I work on my feet most of 8 hours a day and an tired both mentally and physically when I get home and don't want to do much. I am working on changing eating habits and such. Hope to lose some of this weight and get back to eating less,

Sugery March 9

Mar 12, 2009

I had a panniculectomy done Monday March 9, the doctor took about 10 lbs of skin. I have an incision along the pelvic bone from hip to hip and have two drains. I will be off work for 6 weeks. That will give me some time to get my wedding planned and invitations sent out. We are keeping it small and close friends and family. Kevin has been wonderful while taking care of me the first two days home. I came home the same day as my surgery. I basically just take care of my personal needs and food, and leave the rest to Kevin or family that comes to check on me. I can't drive for a few weeks and that is a challenge as I am an independent person and don't like to ask others for help. I am learning!!!!

16 Months since surgery

Jan 12, 2009

Its been 16 months now since my RNY! How things have changed. I have met and fallen in love with a great guy. We are planning to get married this spring. We are meeting with our pastor this afternoon to get things started. I have my panniculectomy surgery scheduled for March 2 and have put in for my time off at work. I am happier than I have been in years and its because of Al-Anon and finding out who I am and what I want in life. I have come to terms with many things from my past and I have decided to let go and let God be in charge and take control. I am thankful for all the challenges and trials that he has and will place before me as it makes me grow and become a better person. PTL!!!!!  Have a Great Day and God Bless!!!!

A lot has Happened

Nov 28, 2008

WOW! A lot has happened since I last posted. I have pretty much stopped at about 145 lbs lost. I found out today that the insurance company has approved a panniculectomy and I have until April 30 of 09 to have it done. I am planning on doing that when I get my vacation time in February. Woooooo hoooooooo all that icky skin will be gone. That is not the best news. I have met and fallen in love with the most wonderful man! His name is Kevin and we have been together now for 3 months and we have been living together for about a month and a half. We have a lot of things in common and there are things that we don't. He is learning to cook using splenda and lower fat content milk and creams and stuff when he makes goodies. Hope everyone had a wonder Thanksgiving.

Waist       42.5

Some went up and others went down. Need to do some more toning exercises. I have been walking about 2-3 miles a day and will be participating in a benefit walk for work which is 3 miles. I have raised  $210 so far. The benefit walk is the 39th annual walk for Opportunity Village where I work. It is a non profit organization that cares for persons with mental and physical challenges. I have been there almost 20 years.

The Dreaded Plateau

Apr 24, 2008

Well, I hit that dreaded plateau that everyone said would happen. I had not lost anything for almost amonth then this past Monday I walked to the clinic and weighed in and lost 1.5 lbs. I was happy. I have been walking almost 3 miles a day and doing my exercises with the 5lb weights. I will be participating in a Benefit Walk for my place of employment a week from Sunday. I cannot wait to walk and I hope the day is warm and sunny. I will be doing measurements and pictures again this weekend. I will post them as soon as I  have them.

I have to admit that I have gotten into a bad habit! I am eating bad carbs and not paying attention to my protien as well as I should. It has been hard at work with all the birthdays and cake and ice cream around. I have 46 lbs more to lose and I really need to get a grip on this carb stuff. Anyone have suggestions? I made it thru a meeting today without touching a cookie. I thought that was a start. I will take any advice you have. Thanks.

WOOOHOOOOOO

Feb 06, 2008

I am now down 103 lbs as of February 4!!! Never in my life would I have thought to be under 325 lbs any time in my life since gaining the weight. I feel wonderful. There are days when food is not my friend and I drink shakes, but for the most part I can eat a variety of foods. I stay away from high sugar, fried, and roasted foods. I can do baked or grilled, I have started doing some weight exercises. I bought 5 lb weights and do exercises every morning. I also purchased an exercise ball which I am sitting on at this moment while typing to you. I cannot wait for the weather to break and it gets warmer so I can go walking again. I have missed that and right now a gym membership is not doable.  I do what I can. I park farther down the parking lot when I go to the store, I walk to many places when I can instead of taking the truck. I see my surgeon on the 11th for my check-up. I have to go shopping, I have an interview on friday and don't have a thing appropriate to wear. It will be interesting to see what I can find. I am going to look at Kohls, I never shopped there before as the sizes didn't go high enough. Have a great week.
