"Dr. Benotti requires all potential patients attend an informational seminar prior to an office visit, as do all the other Bariatric surgeons in this area. His presentation was by far the most professional and most "medically based" of the 3 I attended...no sales pitches here! I have MANY co-morbitities, and needed to feel completely confident in the medical skills of the surgeon I would chose. Dr. Benotti's staff is remarkably helpful in setting up appointments and dealing with insurance issues, I never was made to feel I was bothering them (and believe me towards the end I had a lot of questions!)People intending to be patients of Dr. Benotti's need to know that he is a medical professional, and expects YOU to be an active, participating member of YOUR health care team. You will be responsible for making sure all the Pre-op testing results get to him, as well as scheduling those appointments. The pre-operative testing required was fairly extensive, and patients should be prepared for that. I feel I received the FINEST medical care available, anywhere! Dr. Benotti was at the hospital twice a day, in constant contact with my primary physician and my pulmonologist, and stayed on top of my medical needs as they occured. Phone calls are immediately returned and all questions are answered ...no matter how many times I asked the same ones!! Dr. Benotti's patients have a structured aftercare program/support group and several of his post-op patients came to visit me in the hospital to offer support and answer questions. Dr, Benotti attends the support group meetings and is available to answer questions as they arise. I am 18 months Post op, minus 143 lbs, feeling great and looking forward to my "healthy future!" "
