My name is Linda. I am 51, and live in Bradenton, FL. I have been fighting my weight since I was 18, after the birth of my son. I have tried Weight Watchers, NutraSystem, Phen-Phen, Atkins, low cal and exercise. I do well, and then I find myself right back where I started. I was doing well with exercising and watching what I ate, and then I broke my leg in 2005 and then had surgery on my foot in 2006, and here I am right back where I started.
The best I did was I got within 17 lbs. of my goal weight. Recently I lose 30 - 40 and that's it.
I have hypertension and arthritis in my foot. I am a nurse in an operating room, so I have a very physically demanding job, and the weight really makes it hard.
I have been to a seminar on WLS,and my husband went with me. He's not crazy about the RNY and would rather I have the Lap Band. We will see. I have been to a group suppot meeting and am going to another one tonight, I've been to my primary care physician and we are starting the monthly appointments and I have my appointment for my psych eval.
I work with 2 women who have had the Lap RNY procedure. I know one has the same insurance I do, and she didn't have any trouble getting approved, so I am keeping my fingers crossed that all will go in my favor also.
I am starting at a BMI of 44.4.
I have become addicted to this website and am on here almost every spare moment.
Happy to be here and "meet" you all.
