Toured Bogota with my English speaking guide Paulina. Went shopping and had a great time at a local flea market. Also spent time visiting with other Americans awaiting their surgery-. I would walk down the hall to Lisa and her mom's room and visit with them.
At the mall it seemed like there was tons of food everywhere but I was never tempted. It was like the smell of all the food was magnified but I was happy just smelling.

Got my drain out- HURRAY!!!! I am free!!!
Am going back to the hotel to my room. After getting settled back at the hotel my nurse and I walked around the hotel. It was great to be outside in the warm evening air- we stopped by a few street vendors to see some local artisans.

Still no pain!!! Other than this drain- I am ready to go home!!!! I have started liquids- 1oz every 10 minutes- I feel like if you took a pin to my upper abdomen it would pop. I feel like I'm pregnant. I can chose from broth, Gatorade, water or warm tea.

Didn't sleep last night so they gave me something to help calm me down. I have no pain. The drain is annoying- but doesn't hurt. I am walking all over- did my nursing floor and then went upstairs. TV is getting old and I am bored.

Had surgery today. Woke up from surgery shaking and cold- but not in any pain. I was able to walk the hall that afternoon. I have 4 surgical sites and one drain, no catheter.

Had all of my pre-op tests today:
Endoscopy, blood, urine, EKG, chest X-Rays, Psychiatrist, Surgeon, Anesthesiologist, Internist and Nutritionist. Everything went well. I realized how nice it was to have all these appointmnets in one day.

I leave for surgery this morning. I am nervous and excited. It has started to snow and I just hope the plane departs on time. I pray that God looks after my family while I am away.
