Hello,
My name is Lisa and I recently met a wonderful new friend who recommended this website for support. I have not had WLS, but am currently trying to change years of bad habits.
I was overweight all through high school. (180 and 5' 10") I currently weigh about 282...hard to tell on dial of the scale. At work the other night I weighed 284.2 on the digital scale. I believe the two biggest contributors to my weight gain are my lack of exercise and the fact that I love food and eat not only to survive, but for comfort as well. Of course, not losing all of my pregnancy weight before becomming pregnant again 3 TIMES didn't help either!!!!!!! I weigh more now than I did at 9 months pregnant the first time. That disgusts me!
Over the years I have joined Weight Watchers many times with some success only to put the weight back on. The lowest I have been in the last 10 years was in the 260's and the only time I have been over 300 was during my last pregnancy. (1999) I have been pretty much hovering between 285 and 295 for the last 5 years.
I am considering the lap band procedure, but would like to try one last time to lose weight without surgery. I joined this group for support and information relating to WLS. I have been quite inspired by many of the before and after pics I have seen! You all should be very proud of yourselves! I look forward to getting to know you!
Thanks, Lisa
