Surgery Day Set
Feb 02, 2009
I finally got the call i have been waiting for. I was approved through my insurance and my surgery day is finally set. It is February 23rd. YEAH!!! This has been a long process so far and i know i still have a long way to go. But i can do it!! I am very excited to finally see this light in the tunnel. I started this process in August of 2008. I had first called my insurance company and they gave me a list of doctors i could use. I chose Dr. Snyder because i had used the Rose Medical center before and felt comfortable with them. My husband, my mother and myself attended Dr. Snyder's seminar on August 30th in Denver. I was pumped. It was a relief to know that there were other people out there that felt the same as me. We drove home that day (4hrs) and talked about it the whole way. The next day my husband was notified that his national guard unit was deployeing the next day to go to Louisiana to help with Hurricane Gustav and ended up staying through Hurrican Ike. I put my plans on the back burner for a couple of weeks. When i finally did call Dr. Snyder's office the earliest i could get in was the middle of November. That was a very long wait. Well the day finally arrived for my initial visit. We drove the 4 hours to Denver and then had to wait an hour to get in to see him. But it was worth it. He was so down to earth and welcoming. You felt like you knew him forever. Both my husband and i left there feeling very comfortable about everything. In the mean tiem i had been doing all the prelimiary doctor visits and tests. Wow they really put you through the ringer for this, but it makes you feel that much more comfortable with the whole process.
Since i now have an acutal date there are still a couple of things i have to work on. The first is getting in a lot more excercise and also talking to the nutricitionist. These are my goals for the next three weeks. I will keep you posted on how things are going. Bye for now.
