July 25, 2007 ~ I'm 29 years old 5' 6ish" and currently I weigh 247, at my heaviest I was 261. After starting this journey 22 months ago I have finally been approved for lap band surgery! I was just approved July 20th. I am waiting to complete all of my tests, and classes before a surgery date is set. It has been a very loooong process to get here!
I am married to my very best friend and the most amazing man in the world and have been for 10 years. We have been together for 13 years though. Together we have 3 super amazing kids, Emily who is almost 11, Frankie who is almost 10, and Madison who is almost 3. I am a SAHM and I homeschool our children. "I start every day over (after messing up the day before!). God's grace is overflowing (just like my laundry!), and I am so thankful he's blessed me more than I'll ever deserve."
Our daughter Emily was diagnosed with Papillary Thyroid Cancer February 15, 2006. She has had 3 surgeries and 3 radiation treatments since then until now. Life is really crazy and hard right now but we are surrounded by family and friends who are basically our life line. Even through the mist of all of this craziness and sorrow we still feel so blessed and incredibly in Love with and by God.

September 06 ~ I first heard of the lap band
October 06 ~ I went to the seminar
Novemberish 06 ~ I was told to go on a 12 month supervised diet for my BCBS PPO and I felt crushed. So it took me a while to get going...
January 06 ~ Started my 12 month diet stuff with my wonderful doctor
November 06 ~ 10 months into my diet I got a call that BCBS PPO now only needed 6 months of supervised diet.
November 06 ~ I had my first consult with Dr. Kane Jr.
April 07 ~ Denied by BCBS PPO I have NO idea why it took soooo long for them to get my paper work together!
April 07 ~ I saw my doctor to write a letter of appeal and the Kane Center also wrote one on my behalf.
July 20th 2007 ~ APPROVED!!!
August 20th ~ Still waiting for a surgery date!
September ~ Surgery date set for September 24th!
PHEW!! What a LONG journey this has been!
