Almost there!

Feb 24, 2007

I wanted to thank everyone for your posts.  I am still trying to figure out everything on this forum, so I don't know the best way to say Thanks!!

I had my sleep study on Wednesday night, and now I have to go back tonight for a CPAP-titration.  Hopefully after that everything will be done.  It has been one big rush to get everything done in time.

I had to tell my Ex about my surgery, because we are still very good friends, and he is helping me with my dog while I'm going to these appointments and during my surgery.  He has been very supportive in some ways, but less supportive with the whole surgery idea.  He doesn't understand why I can't lose with conventional methods. He blames it on being lazy!  That is part of the reason we aren't together, because that is his father's opinion of me as well.  It is almost like they believe everyone starts off the same, and how we live our lives determines our body size.

Anyway, enough with dwelling on the past and the negative.  I'm about to start a new life!  A better one, with hope and a chance to be healthy and happy again.

Again, thanks for the support.  If anyone wants to give me some website help, I'd greatly appreciate it.  I'm not near as squatty as picture shows me!

Starting to get depressed

Jan 17, 2007

I know I need to be patient, but I just can't help thinking about the people who are getting scheduled while I am still waiting for my initial letter to be sent.  I feel like offering to go to their office, call my insurance company, and stay on hold until I get through.  I can't believe that is still their excuse.

I hope that our new company has out of network benefits so that I can go to a different surgeon.  I hate to punish the surgeon for their staffs' mistake, but this is unnacceptable.

What is meant to be will happen, but I can't take the waiting.

Frustrated!

Jan 10, 2007

I had my consultation with Dr. Tran on 12/18/05 and was told that my predermination letter would be sent within the next day or two.  I was told that if I did not hear back from their office in 2 weeks, to give them a call.  Well, I called, and the letter hadn't even been sent!  I realize it was the holidays, but it is frustrating to read about people hearing back within days of their initial consultation, and I'm going on 3 weeks!  I am afraid to call back, because the surgical consultant sound very irritated with me, and I don't want to get her on my bad side.  She holds my future in her hands.

Oh well.  Patience is my New Year's resolultion.
