Thomas Zweng

"I first met Dr. Voellinger at Presbyterian Hospital, they were having a free class on all of the different Baritric surgeries that were performed at Presbyterian Center. He took the time to answer question that were asked. The staff that he had with him were very polite and helpful, learned that most of them had done the wls too. After the class was over I was able to speak directly to Dr. Voellinger and he seem to be very nice and understand with a touch of compassion. At the time I was referred to another doctor that is within the same group. I found after turning in my paper work that Dr. Zweng would not take any patients with a BMI over 40 or medicare patients. SO that in turn meant that I had to choose Dr. Voellinger. Well, my surgeron has been changed again back to Dr. Zweng, due to Dr. Voellinger no longer take any new patient. Dr. Voellinger will be leaving the clinic so all his patients have been turned over to Dr. Zweng. I met with Dr. Zweng on 9/20/05 he was very informative about the procedure and what I will expect after. I was willing to answer any and all question and concerns that I had. Told me that he was going to dictate a letter to my insurance group today(9/20) so that we could get a response back fairly soon. As soon as they response he will schedule me for surgery. I know that I am going to be in great hands. Dr. Zweng is very polite and a nice man. Well, I am back with Dr. Voellinger this time for good. Since they have decided to scratch my RNY wls to have Adjustable lap Band instead."

Sara Beyer

"Dr. Sara Beyer is the greatest. It has been a long time since I have found a doctor that I truly admire and appreciate. She was previouly with Albemarle Road Family Practice, Charlotte, NC but have just recently move to Steele Creek. I like less than 3 minute from Albemarle RD location, but when she told me she was moving I said I will go with you, the new location is aprx 10-15 miles away. Dr. Beyer will take to explain everything to know, when she does not know something she will let you know and do everything in her power to find an answer. She is very compassion to all her patients. She goes above and beyond the call on duty, not like most doctors today. They will come in the room look at you and run out before you can either ask questions. But not her, she is very mindful of how expensive drugs are today, and she does everything to give you samples as offen as possible. She will explain that sometimes whatever is wrong with you will not get better overnight. But she will do everything to help you to get better. She was in full support of me and my decision for wls. She said that whatever she can do to help she will. When I receive my packet and was showing her the various testing I needed, she did not for one minute hasiate ordering labs, chest x-ray, ekg,(when she saw ekg and realize that I have an enlarge heart) she quickly requested a cardiologist testing. She has just been wonderful. "

Jennifer Manly

"Jennifer, was very imformative about eating properly, she told me everything I needed to know about pre-surgery liquid diet. She informed me that Dr. Voellinger only requires his patient to go on liquid diet 2weeks before surgery and aprx 3-5 days after you I would go on a soft diet, but I must puree everything really well. So that I will not have any problems, She explain to me that a first I will only be able to eat aprx 1/4c of food. She advise me not to try to do more than that at any one giving time right now. I was so glad she told me that,b/c I was wondering I was going to know exactly how much was enough or too much. I only heard everyone say eat a little bit, but no one said what exactly a little bit was. Thanks so much to Jennifer for taking time to explain different protein powders as well as drinks. She showed me the different kinds of vitimans to look for and what to stay away from. She told me that I will need to have all my current meds either liquid form or crush after surgery. And that I should take with my PCP& RA drs. prior to surgery to let them know so if for some reason there might be meds that will not be able to be crush or liquid then Dr. Voellling will be aware and be able to advise me as what to do. Jennifer truly was the greatest. I would recommend her to anyone looking for a nutritionist."
