Doctor's visit - May 21, 2007
May 21, 2007
Well - a bit over 4 weeks since surgery and I've dropped 15lbs. So over all since October 2006 I've lost 61lbs and I feel good about it. I am able to do cardio 5x week for 45 minutes without any issues. I still can't do strength training, but at least I was given the green light to golf and start back with my bow. The Utah bow hunt is 2.5 months out and I need to get cracking.
We talked about getting a fill, but she doesn't think it's necessary - keep losing the weight at 1-2lbs per week and I'm still doing quite well. Obviously I'd like to lose more, but sometimes that just doesn't work out the way I want it to be.

Surgery was April 17th - nothing too exciting to report - it was a normal surgery - 1.5 hours I do believe. I did experience some pretty nasty pain when trying to get the gas out of my body - that wasn't fun. I got home around 1pm and laid down for a few hours - not a real nap, just resting. I didn't eat or drink much that day or on Wednesday.
Post Op day 3 was good - no pain, so no need for pain pills. Same with Friday.
I met with the surgeon on 4/23/07 and she gave me the go ahead to start with soft foods - which will be nice - I'm getting tired of drinking my food.
The upside with the liquid diet - weight loss.
My pre-op doctor's appointment I weighed 317, surgery day I weighed 310 and then my appointment with the doctor I weighed 304. So in 12 days I lost 13lbs.
I know the weight loss will start to plateau, but I'm pretty happy so far. I'm excited to know that soon I'll be out of the 300lbs weight class forever!!!!!!
