Surgery Date Scheduled!!! January 15th 2003. Wow is this real??? How ironic that I had a hysterectomy on that same day 2 years ago!!! I think I am officially nervous. Help!!!

Have you ever seen the movie: THE WIZARD OF OZ??? Well, soon you will be saying what the wicked witch said when Dorothy threw a bucket of water on her: "I'M MELTING!! I'M MELTING!!!" Those lbs will just melt off of you soon. You will soon be walking down the YELLOW BRICK ROAD to see the WIZARD OF OZ and your sweetest wish will be granted. Congratulations and good luck to you. My husband and I both had our open rny's at Pacific Bariatric in San Diego in 2001 and have lost a combined total of 325 lbs. YOU CAN DO IT TOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Surgery APPROVED!! My journey with the insurance company started in March 02 and it took unil 11-14 to finally get the dumb thing approved. I am waiting for my doc to get ahold of the approval letter and then they will contact me to schedule my surgery. I am feeling that "anticlimax" that I have heard people talk about. I just need to keep busy I guess. That isn't hard to do with the holiday's coming up. I just want to get this done and over with. It can't move fast enough! 32 weeks and I was approved on the first letter. Anybody have any good ideas on how to keep my mind occupied???

Hi Laurey! I am a fellow Ohioian! What do you mean by "large frame"? I WORE as size 9 jeans at the age 18 and I am 5 foot 9. Then, I weighed about 150 pounds. I had my surgery on Aug. 14th,2002 and have since lost 64 pounds with a start weight of 285. I intend on getting back into those size 9's! All the best to you!
