Hey, I am down 18 lbs and feeling great. What an experience, let me tell you!! From the beginning of the trip to the hospital it was full of mayhem. Started out that when we pulled up to the gas station to fill the tank, some lovely person put sugar in the tank. Thankfully, it did not get to the engine yet. Due to it being Memorial Day, nothing was opened to tow or fix it. I had to leave by myself in the car to drive to Anchorage. Tuesday morning I showed up for my lab work to find out no one bothered to schedule me an Operating Room. I was "penciled-in" for 1pm the next day. At least that wasn't a major concern. All lab work was done - no problems. My husband and family didn't get on the road until 5pm that day and an hour outside of home, got a flat tire and couldn't get the lug off, too tight. Took two hours to get help. He never showed up in Anchorage until 3am. Wednesday. Poor thing was tired and here I had to be at the hospital at 9:45am. Get there and have a room assigned to change into my gown. No large gowns at that place so I'm bare in the back. During operation I decided to put a show on for the good docs. I slid off the table. Yep, my hips were so big they pulled me right off when they tipped the table up. How embarrassing!!! Then later my foot dropped off the end of the table. To cap it all off, I coughed up my NG tube when I woke up. Of course, that only benefited me. From then on, everything went extremely well, no complications. I ran a low grade fever for a few days, but nothing over 101.5. I was discharged Sunday and stayed in the local area until Wednesday. I am happy to be home and feeling great. I have lost 18 POUNDS, never to see again. Oh, the JP tube hurt like Hell coming out. Glad it only took a few seconds. Over all, I'm happy with the results and looking forward to my new life. Thank you to everyone who has supported me through this.
