I finally got my period!
Aug 18, 2007
I posted something on the Light Weight message board regarding this subject.
To recap, my cycle is anywhere between 24-27 days. To my surprise I was 14 days late and I was really worried. I knew I wasn't pregnant but I was scared there maybe something wrong with me. Everyone posted replies with great information regarding this subject. But today I was so excited because it is finally here. Yahoo!!!
P.S. Still struggling with the carbs. But was so busy today with my daughter's birthday party that all I ate was 1/4 of a sandwich. And a can of coke. (I know I shouldn't have had the coke, but it was so damn good).
Yes, the scale finally moved!!!

Okay,
I must admit I have been cheating myself the last week. I haven't tried really hard to eat my protein. The carbs (as you know my weakness) have sneaked into my diet again. I went a whole weak with little or no carbs and no loss on the scale.
Anyway, today I weighed myself and I lost 2 lbs. Now so you know that darn scale was not moving all month. No loss for the whole month until today.
Yahoo. Who knows, maybe I needed a little bit of carbs and that added in the weight loss.

Struggling to eat enough protein
Aug 05, 2007
Everyone is so helpful on this issue. I don't eat enough protein. I now know I should be eating anywhere between 60-100 grams (based on what I read). I don't know about anyone else but for me it's hard just to get 40 grams of protein in a day.
I admit carbs go down so much easier than protein. But everyday I vow not to eat carbs. I haven't been successful but I do manage to get in at least 2 meals with little to no carbs.
Am I the only person who has had this surgery that still eats some carbs? It feels like I am the only one. I realize that in order to be successful I need to stop eating carbs but it is so hard.
Anyway, I will keep trying. It is just so hard because they go down so easy.

How I miss my full head of hair..
Aug 02, 2007
Okay, for the last couple of months I have been losing my hair. It started around month 2 or 3. A couple strands here and there, but nothing major. But during the 4 to 5 month my hair loss is quite substancial.
When I finish washing my hair the drain is clogged with my hair. Then when I blow dry my hair my hair brush has about 50 or more strands.
Recently, I started noticing that I can see my scalp. Since, I highlight my hair (my hair is really dark) you can see the dark roots coming in but thinner than usual. Also, there is no way to style it to make it look normal. It looks wierd.
I tried Toppik (recommendation from a post) but I found that it just looks like dried up powder on my head. I guess it would look better if my hair was darker but the blonde stuff just does not look good.
Anyway, I guess I am ranting. But I really miss my full head of hair.
I pray that my hair comes back soon. Hopefully, thicker and healthier.

Still struggling not to eat carbs
Jul 30, 2007
I swear carbs are demons calling you to eat them. This has been my hardest struggle. They go down so easy and are so readily available. I find it so difficult to eat protein alone.
Nonetheless, I have been trying hard and my weight loss stall has finally gone away. Today, I weighed myself and I am 129.5. Finally, in my 120's. I am so excited. I haven't been in my 120's since before my little Sophia was born.
I am so excited. I love the way my body is looking and I love shopping for clothes. It's so much fun.

Trying really hard not to eat carbs.
Jul 13, 2007
Okay, I guess I didn't realized that I should not be eathing carbs. I probably read it and my usual stuborn ignorant self decided to ignore it.
It has been 4.5 months since my surgery and my weight loss has slowed down. I know it's because of those carbs.
So finally, I have been struggling just to eat protein. It is so hard because almost everything has carbs. How much meat can a person eat without getting bored?
I must stay strong and stay away from the carbs.
