My story is probably very similar to everyone else. I have always been the chubby child that all the other kids made fun of. I tried every diet in the book. I would be successful for a little while, but the weight always came back on plus more.

When we moved to Florida, the weight really started to pile on. I tried so hard to lose it, but with no success. I started having blood pressure problems that required medication. I ended up having my gall bladder out for my 30th birthday. The summer after my birthday, my son (at the time was 6) told me my extra fluffy tummy was the best pillow ever. That's when it really hit me that I needed help.

I was very fortunate that my primary care physican was pro anything that worked to lose the weight. My insurance accepted my request the first time we submitted and I was immediately referred to a gastric surgeon. I had my surgery within 3 months of starting with my PCM and I couldn't be happier.

It's been 21 months and I have lost 108 pounds. I would like to lose a few more, but I'll work on that. I am no longer embarrassed to be seen in public or go to my kids schools. I fit into the movie theater seats again. My true happy personality has finally come out. My husband and kids are so proud of me, and my son doesn't tell me I'm fluffy anymore.
