I think my issue now is this 6 month wait before surgery required by my insurance.  I was gunho and lost 35 pounds then my body clock said, "Ok fat girl your diet time is running out time to grab a burger and fries..you know you can't stick to this for much longer."  And she ( the fat me) is right, I need to have the surgery to get this monsters out...I go to my 6th visit with my PCP this Friday then I should get a date..
Meanwhile I have to hang on and get this started so I can move on with my journey.

For some reason I am having a set back and not eating so good..want to get back on track, my 6th PCP visit is April 2nd and I want to show a loss.  This back pain has me mostly sitting and that doesn't  help.... anyway I will do it, I guess it is normal to say goodbye to some foods.
Have you all done this before surgery?

Shrinks are crazy!!!!  This one I had to see messed me up back for 3 days I was unsure of myself for the first time since October and I will discuss this with Dr. Pender....fruitcake talking about stats she knew nothing about...anyway...I survived and moved on and back to being as sure as before that my WLS will save my life!  So there..nutbar!!

Okay down another 5 pounds from 283 to 250...tomorrow is a full day of tests and evals at ECU and then one more PCP visit and we are about to get this show on the road!!  Doing well and feeling good about my loss so far...the dr's are pleased with my attitude and improvements in my self and personal growth.

New life here I come.....thank you for your support and any words of wisdom...

Yesterday I recieved a note in the mail that Dr Pender is sending me to the Heart Institute for testing due to past heart issues..but I had back surgery last march and I know I am good to go.  Then I called to ask what if anything was found in my EKG or chest x-ray and thay said this was just a precausion..Phew!  Then I asked if there were any dates set up and they are all set for March 5th!!!!!
I am so excited and ready to get this show on the road...I am losing on my own but I want to have this done so bad....My knees are killin me and I want to get my replacements done next year and be a fun Nana before my lil Peanut gets too much older.
I am gettin gthere at first I thought that 6 months would never pass and now my 5th appointment is March 4th.
Here we go............come with me I need the hands to hold.
 

  Met Dr Pender and loved him!!  Had blood work done and xrays, ekg and got that all out of the way.  Really felt good after i left, relieved that Dr Pender was such a nice guy..even funny.  2 more visits with my PCP and we will be about ready to roll!!
 

I go see Dr. Pender tomorrow!!!!  for my first visit with him and to get all my other tests and appointments lined up.  I am so excited!!
 

  Well, this month I lost 10 pounds!!!  It was easy and I was surprised but very proud!  Two more visits and I am well on my way!!  I am getting some comments from friends that wonder why I am going to do the surgery when I have lost 30 pounds on my own since November..I am driven by pain I have bone on bone arthritis and I have to get this weight off and how many of us lose it only to regain it?????  Everyone on here and more..I have to have the bypass to keep the pain away and have my knee replacements.  We must keep our eye on the prize and Just do it!
   

Just got off the phone with the Bariatric Center and they say they have not recieved any of my paper work from my PCP.  My PCP is all gunho on this and has several patients like me and is even considering a support group and I find it hard to believe he hasn't followed the rules.  But I called everyone and hopefully that is straight.  Also have a refereal being sent to the dieticain at the local hospital so I can get that under my belt..no pun intended, haven't wore a belt in 100 years!
When I talked to them at ECU they said soon as they get the paper work they will give me an appointment withthe surgeron, THATS what I am waiting for then it will be real and I am ready to fly.  They said I will get a date soon as I do my 6th appt.  We are talking....da da daaaa.....April 2010...OMG , it is really going to happen.  Will keep you posted.  

Not much to tell here, I have gone from 283 to 265 could have been more but the holidays and having my husband home didn't help.  I have to become stronger and set my foot down with a THUD when it comes to others wanting to eat at buffet style resturants.  I wish i hadn't told some people my plan they feel the need to tell me I look fine and a lady at the doctors office yesterday had the nerve to tell me..a perfect stranger that her friend had a bypass and went into a coma on the table and never woke up and they put her in a nursing home and she was 67 when they did the surgery.  I told her my dr wont do it if you are 65  or older and went back to reading my book.  But it did un-nerve me a bit.  Heavy sigh.....
