"Dr. Mocosco is a very friendly surgeon. He was polite and never made me feel "big". He is very well groomed and takes his time with you and carefully answered all of my questions. The office was running behind at least an hour so the staff was very busy trying to catch up. The staff was not overly friendly but they were not unkind and they were very busy. The thing I liked least would have to be the time I waited in the waiting room. (Who likes to sit in a waiting room from 11:15-12:40) Dr. Mocosco doesn't emphazie after care to the degree that portsmouth naval hospital does but he does talk about it. He does not have a structured after care program but they do have a support group that meets once a month. He did address all the rish of surgery. Dr. Mocosco would get an good overall rating. He really took his time with me, even though he was running behind, he answered all my questions and made me feel like he is very competent and showed great bedside manner. "

"My stay could have been better. The resident doctor took over care so what my doctor would tell me and what would happen were not always the same. I felt like I didn't pick him to be part of my care team and I certainly didn't like being told two or more different things. The nurses were under staffed and at one point the day after my surgery I was left in my bed without a call light or the controls to the bed for over 20 minutes. During which time my IV kept going off because there was air in it. I cryed out for help finally and after about 5 minutes of feeling really stupid for crying out for help a nurse comes in and tells me how busy she is and that I am not her patient and she understands that I am probable just like this because I just had surgery. I asked her if she could just pleased had me my call light and I would call my nurse and she could get back to her patient. She did go ahead and fix the IV but with attitude. I promise I was not trying to be a problem. I just wanted to be taken care of. "
