Hi Debra. Your day is only a little over a week away. This time last year I was right where you were because I had my surgery 8/15/02. I weighed in at 354 the day of surgery and now I am 199. I hope you have the same success that I have had. Best wishes. Carrie Davis

Hello Debra - Congratulations on your upcoming surgery date! You'll find the changes that follow, nothing short of a miracle. For 20 years I prayed and hoped for a "second chance" in life to be healthier and thinner - I never thought I would get that chance, but I did, and now so will you. My humble advice? Walk as much as possible after surgery. As your body begins to heal make sure to get in your protein, even if it means plugging your nose and chugging back the protein drinks in baby [pouch] gulps. Vitamins need to be chopped, minced or crushed... whatever it takes to get them in daily, no exceptions, YOU are worth it. Also, let's not forget your new best(est) friend, water. It is SO important to get your minimum 64 oz in daily. One final thing, remember to CELEBRATE all the special moments along the way, big or small. Too many people focus on the number, ie. pounds lost. There are so many "moments" to look forward to and to embrace along the way - don't let any of them slip by. Enjoy your new healthier life, you've earned it!! Hugs and smiles -

Debra congratulations on the fast approval on your surgery date. And what an awesome job you have not to stress you about returning to work. This gives you one less thing to worry about. This way you can recover with pay stress free able to concentrate on what matters most. Blessings for you as you continue your weightloss journey.

I SAID A PRAYER FOR YOU TODAY~*~ I said a prayer for you today And know God must have heard- I felt the answer in my heart Although He spoke no word I didn't ask for wealth or fame, I knew you wouldn't mind, I asked Him to send treasures Of a far more lasting kind, I asked that He'd be near you At the start of each new day, To grant you health and blessings And friends to share your way. I asked for happiness for you In all things great and small, But it was for His loving care I prayed the most of all. (unknown author) FROM MY HEART TO YOU~*~Hugs~*~

Today, July 14, 2003, I made an appointment with Dr. Dirk Rodriguez in Dallas, TX. My appointment is Friday July 18th. I have a seminar from 8:00 am till 11:00 am and then I have an appointment with Dr. Rodriguez at 2:30. I have so many questions but I am really ready for the procedure. I have waited over a year to make the appointment. I always have an excuse...not enough money.....the insurance probably won't approve it....I can't take off work....My life is too busy....there is always an excuse! But now I am doing this for me! I have a very supportive husband that doesn't care if I have the surgery or not. I want to do this for me, so I can live to see my family grow throughout the future years. I would also like to have more energy and be able to do what I want to do with my life! The most important thing is to have my health back! My Father always said, "If you don't loose weight you are going to regret it one of these days!" Well that day has come. I have High anxiety, High Blood Pressure, Sleep Apnea, Pain in my knees, ankles and back. I am also borderline Diabetic! I have always been very active in my life but I could never seem to lose the weight....even if I did I would gain it all back plus some! Right now I am 33 years old, weigh 287 pounds and have a BMI of 43.........I hope to be able to schedule my procedure soon so that I can start my new life! I look at the procedure as "PROJECT DEBRA" the one challenge that I can face and make it to the top! I look forward to being here in less than a year saying that I made it, "I AM A LOSER!" and I made it to the Century mark! I will post again as soon as I hear something from the appointment or the Insurance company! GOD BLESS! Debra
