Hard to believe it has been 6 years as of 5/22/2009 since my surgery. It was a very difficult path after the surger...2 months in the hospial and wondering if I would even get home. But, here I am now, and I am grateful EVERY SINGLE day for this surger. Is my life perfect? Heck no..but it is better and I am healthier. Every time I enter a restaurant and can fit in a booth I remember what it was like before to feel that shame of not fitting, trying to be invisible so no one would see me.  It is a journey that is not easy and I could be doing better (making better food choices, exercising more)  but it is 'progress not perfection'.
