Hey Everyone:
I am Delores 41 yrs lbs. I live in Monnmouth County NJ. This is my story.
I been trying to lose weight for years. (just like most of you) I heard about WLS and toyed around with the idea then decided to research. I decided the Lap Band would be just the thing for me!!!
Well after many, many, many months of Dr. visits, tests and groups they gave me a surgery date of 1/22/07 pending my insurance co. approval (which happens to be Amerigroup, which happens to be a medicade insurance). Well, as of today my insurance company denied me. They say I need to have two more tests done, Cardiology and Pulmonary. Well I,m now in a panik I have a date but need more Test and results before 1/22/07. Ummmmm I get to calling Dr's in the telephone book and on the internet in my area until I find the two that will take my medicade insurance and BEGGED them to see me before my surgery date. Well, it worked I have and appt tomorrow with the Pulmonary Dr., 1/3/07 pre-admission test for hospital, 1/4/07 Cardiology test then fax paperwork back to insurance co.
Well, I'll keep you informed. Please pray for me. Thanks
1/2/07--I'm back!!! Testing for the Pulmonary Dr. went well. After the test he gave me a letter of clearance to be sent to my insurance company. I need to say, I'm getting nervous and excited at the same tiime, but since I don't have trust in my insurance company I'll really be excited after they actually approve the surgery. After I get these latest nnew tests they want they might deny me saying I need something else done. All I can do is stay in prayer.
1/3/07-Went to have pre-admissions test done today and boyyyyyy was it an all day process. Had to get abdominal ultrasound, they muset have took picturees of my belly in all diffrent ways for about 35 minutes. I had to also get chest X-rays, blood drawn (about 7 tubes), urine test, speak with anesthia Dr. and wait at least 3 diffrent times to be registered in the computer. All while I was straving to death. (LOL) I was at the hospital by 9:15
1/4/07- WELL, I MADE MY APPT TODAY FOR CARDIO DR. HE DID A LITTLE WORK UP, ASKED QUESTIONS AND THEN HE HIT ME WITH THE BOMB. I NEED AN ECO TEST D0NE AND STRESS TEST DONE. i KNOW IT WAS SEEMING TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE NOWA i HAVE TO SCRABLE AROUND TO GET THESE TEST DONE BEFORE 1/22/07. I HAVE MY ECO TEST DONE TOMORROW MORNING (ONCE AGAIN NEEDING TO TAKE MORE TIME OFF FROM WORK) AND THEY SAID (DR. OFFICE) THEY WILL SET UP STRESS TEST AT HOSPITAL, NOW I'M WAORRYING ABOUT BEING ABLE TO GET IT IN TIME. i ALSO RECEIVED IN THE MAIL MY OFFICIAL DENIAL LETTER FROM INSURANCE COMPANY AND IT STATES WHAT i NEEDED TIO STILL DO. ( i ALREADY KNEW, BUT SEEING IT IN BLACK/WHITE WAs STILL DEPRESSING. GUESS I'LL LYE TO MY JOB TOMORROW AND SAY MY CAR BROKE DOWN ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD OR SOMETHING AND I'LL BE THERE LATE. MY APPT IS FOR 10:45. PLEAS KEEP ME IN PRAYER. THANKS
1/21/07-LONG TIME NO POST. WELL EVERYTHING WASE APPROVED BY INSURANCE I HAD TROUBLE 1/19/07 GETTING CLEARNACE FROM MY PCP CAUSE MY WHITE BLOOD CELL COUNT WAS ELEVATED BUT HE TALKED TO MY SURGERY DR. AND THEY SAID PROBABLY URINE INFECTION AND GAVE ME ANTIBOTIC AND SO HE FINALLY SIGNED THE CLEARANCE. WELL IT THE NIGHT BEFORE SURGERY, I HAD TO DRINK A BOTTLE OF MAGNESIA CITRATE TO CLEAR MY SYSTEM. IVE BEEN DRINKING BROTH, EATING JELLO AND WATER ALL DAY, LETE NOT FORGET GOIMG TO THE BATHROOM ALSO. (lol) WELL I,M ALL PREPARED FOR WEEK 1 CLEAR LIQUIDS BUT FOR THE DEVIL I GO BACK TO WORK WEEK 2 AND NOT SURE HOW TO HANDLE MY DIET, WHAST I MEAN IS I HAVE TH ITEMS NEEDED BUT HOW DO GET ALL THOSE SMALL AMOUMT TO WORK. UMMMMMMMM. WHERE THERES A WILL THERES A WAY.
I WANT TO THANK EVERYONE FOR THERE SUPPORT AND PRAYERS THUS FAR. TOMORROW STARTS A NEW LIFE FOR ME. SEE YOU ALL AFTER THAT.
1/24/07- 2 days post op. ANYONE SAYS ITS NOT THAT PAINFUL, THEY LIED!!!!! MY TONGUE IS VERY DRY AND TRYING TO KEEP UP WITH FLUID INTAKE. JUSZT WANTED TO KEEP UP ALL BRIEFED ON PROGRESS. MY BACK HURTS AND I'M TIRED SEE YOU SOON.
