Another goal almost met !!!

Apr 08, 2010

Hello,   Went to my Dr.  today and stepped outside this AM and the wind hit me and it was like WHOOOO, when did it get so cold again.   I think I need to get outside more >>>>.   Well I've lost another 4 lbs,  i'm a month out now,  so my total is 40 lbs.   I find it difficult however,  getting all the vitamens and my pills have not yet been evaluated,  (like do I still need yadda yadda yadda)  no blood work done yet...my stomach is so full with water,  I have a hard time sliding in meals and snacks.  OH MY, I know I sound like a whimp !!!!   Got a little talking to by the PA  I told  her what I was eating,  I'm still mushy,  and said I had tuna, but added some onion for flavor....she WAS NOT HAPPY !!!!   OK,  OK,  OK  MUSHY I GET IT.     Other than that I'm happy with what is happening so far.   Judyy

NINE DAYS OUT`~~~~

Mar 18, 2010

TODAY WENT TO MY DR. VISIT AND I HAVE LOST 22 LBS.   THIS IS SO EXCITING FOR ME.....MY SURGERY WAS MARCH 9TH AND MY FIRST GOAL WAS TO JUST WAKE UP FROM SURGERY.  WHICH I DID,  BUT AS I AM BEING MOVED FROM THE GERNEY TO THE HOSPITAL BED,  I THOUGHT WHAT IN THE WORLD HAVE I DONE ????? SO SORE, SO SWOLLEN.....BUT THE PAIN IS NOW GONE,  THE SWELLING IS ALMOST GONE AND I FEEL WONDERFUL...I CAN MOVE BETTER,  OH HECK,  I JUST FEEL SO MUCH BETTER ALL AROUND.   SO GIRLS THOSE OF YOU WHO HAVE YOUR SURGERY DATE AND ALL THESE THOUGHTS ARE COMING INTO YOUR HEAD AND YOU ARE CONFUSED,   LET IT GO.   IF YOU'VE DONE ALL YOUR RESEARCH AND READ ALL THE MATERIAL THEY'VE GIVEN YOU AND YOU HAVE DECIDED " THIS IS WHAT I NEED TO DO " THEN LET THE FEAR AND CONFUSION GO.  I'M LOVIN LIFE RIGHT NOW AND IT IS ONLY 22 LBS.  THERE ARE MANY THINGS THAT ONLY GOD CAN TAKE CARE OF AND THIS IS ONE OF THEM......HUGS

Tomorrow is my Big Day

Mar 08, 2010

Well I've taken my my required stuff for the day before surgery.  My thoughts are a calm and peace that rolled over me yesturday....I'm so grateful for this opertunity to change my journey at this time.  Motivation, my new Grand daughter,  she is my first grand child and what a JOY,  grandma wants to be around to see her grow up..At this time I'm on 12 medications and I swear I've lost the same 100 lbs.  since I was 18,  I'm now 65.  When I was growing up the only way we where taught to lose weight was to starve,  basically,  and nothing about serving size,  nutrician etc..So those habits are hard to break.   So this pre op time I've been in the learning stage for me.   It will be a new chapter in my journey and I am grateful,  I have 3 wonderful kids and life is good,  except for my weight problem.  So am looking forward to tomorrow.    THANKS FOR YOUR WELL WISHES AND PRAYERS

It's Thursday and I'm still here

Feb 25, 2010

Hello,   Well I started my liquid diet on monday and like I said it's now Thursday and I'm still here.  Have been reading the postings for today,  and found the " What are we eating today" to be really interesting, and the excercise talk.   One of my own goals, (  I have not posted )  is to be able to excercise.  Or atleast walk with out using my walker.   Have not crossed my legs in years,  or like others on here,  look at the chairs when I go into a room or resturant to see if I'll fit.   Shopping,  would love to wear something that does not seem like a uniform.  Don't know if anyone else has had this problem,  but sweating my head and lower stomach,  have to use baby diaper rash cream to keep creases dry.  Embarassing.  Does everyone have the tummy tuck thing after you have hit goal ???

The beginning of something new !!!

Feb 23, 2010

This is my frist post on this Blog,  but wanted to address the age and activities I now do and why surgery now !!!!  Well this 65 year old has just become a grand mom for the first time,  she is perfect,  and I also am the lone caregiver for my 87 year old mom.   I feel like an Oreo cookie,   I'm the filling in the middle.   As a conciqence I've had to have both knee's replaced, my left foot repaired,  a kidney stone, and gallblader removed,  this just in the last 7 years.   My weight at my highest was 310 it went down to 230 when the knee's were replaced and now am back up to 266.   The YOYO still exsists,  and I am wore out.   The demanding part of this is my mother,   she can be all consuming,  however in the last year I have set boundries for the first time in my life,   don't know when she thought we became a couple but in her mind we did,  soooooooooo boundries it is.    There is a life I would like to have apart from her.    History with parents is a really difficult thing to deal with,   you either stuff it,  or forgive it and figure they did the best they knew to do.....I'M WORKING ON IT........So for now,  this is my story at this moment.   There is much more to this journey of 65 years,   will add more later,   if any one is interested.  Thanks you guys
