Life is good!!!
Jun 23, 2009
Wow….7 months post op and down 81 lbs!!! Although it is less than some people…for me it is wonderful. I have been on both sides of the spectrum…overweight and under weight. And although I still have 49 lbs to goal I’m fine with that. At this point in my journey I can cross my legs without any discomfort. I can sit in an airplane seat. I can shop in the normal sizes. I have so much energy. I can walk up a flight of stairs without feeling like I’m going to pass out. When I walk up a flight of stairs people don’t’ stop and turn there back to the wall so I can pass (that was embarrassing for me). I have done more in the last 3 months than I have done over the last 5 years. Life is good and I am excited to be a part of it again. I didn’t realize how much I wasn’t doing until after the weight started coming off.
It's Been a Tough Few Weeks
Feb 10, 2009
Well...it's been a tough few weeks. My mother-in-law passed away on 1/29 and her funeral was on 2/6. I love her and miss hear dearly!! She was very supportive of my weight loss efforts. I did fine until today, today all I want to do is eat... I need to stay focused on why I did this surgery...I have to realize that eating will not take away the fact that she is gone. I don't mean to be a downer...I just needed to let my feelings out I guess...maybe that's what thin people do??? Talk about how they feel instead of fill up with food to try and numb the feeling....Well for anyone who reads this I hope you are all doing well on journey!!
7 Weeks and 35 lbs down!
Jan 07, 2009
Wow…I can’t believe it’s been 7 weeks since I’ve had surgery. I’m down 35 lbs and the time has flown by.
I’m doing well, though it’s interesting to me that I have not experienced any side affects, thus far anyway, that I heard about prior to surgery. I have not been sick at all. I did experience some discomfort last week…but I think it’s because I ate my chicken to fast after going to long in between meals. But that’s about it. I do however feel like my weight loss is moving slow. The first month I dropped fast but now it’s averaging about 3 lbs per week. Is that average??? I don’t know!
The funniest part of this whole experience is when I first came back to work ( 2 weeks later) all my co-workers that new I was having surgery (I’m an open book – almost the entire City new) would look me over up and down….I think they thought I was going to come back skinny! My standard response is “It’s going to take time”.
