I had my surgery Monday morning.  I was up and walking in no time (2500+) steps at the hospital.  I did stay over night because of insurance requirements and walked more the next day (3500+ steps).  I had my first "clear liquids" at 6 pm the second night because the nurse forgot to order a bariatric diet for me in the morning.  I did fine with the first "meal".  The doctor came and gave me my discharge orders and I was getting ready to  go home when another nurse brought me some of my meds.  After I took the pills I started foamimg in my  throat, then fluids started coming up too.  The nurse at the hospital acted like it was a normal occurrence and went ahead and gave me my discharge papers and rolled me out to the car.  The foaming continued and I called the doc's office in the morning.  I made an appt for the next morning to see the doc but in the meantime I tried the Gas-X strips and it stopped the foaming.   So I called this morning and canceled my doc appt.    I am taking protonix twice a day.  Now I am still having some reflux issues but from what I have read these will subside too.
