Monthly Update: I had my regular monthly appointment July 9th .... total weight loss is now 112 pounds. I am feeling great and my surgeon is happy with my progress. I attended one of his seminars with my husband and son and he referred to me as a "success story" ... that felt really good. Now to just get the rest of it off! I am doing well enough that I don't have to commute (6 hour round trip) for my monthly appointments any more .... I can call in my weight each month. Will update next month. God bless you all.

6/6/01: Monthly update: I had my regular appointment today ... total weight loss is now 104 pounds. Weight loss has definitely slowed down, but I really shouldn't complain, as I am still losing. My surgeon is pleased, and I am too! It is amazing how wonderful I feel compared to only one year ago. Everything is easier ... starting with getting out of bed in the morning. Life is grand!

TAAAAAAAAAAAADAAAAAAAAAAAAAA .... as of today, May 21st, 2001 I have officially joined the century club. 6 months post-op and 101 pounds gone forever! Life is grand. Good luck and God Bless you all, wherever you may be in your journey.

Hi all. I saw Dr. Pearce for my monthly follow-up ... I have lost 13 more pounds for a total of 96. Getting close to that century mark ... my goal is to get there by 6 months post op ... I have another week, so I might still make it. I am doing well except for some extreme fatigue I have been experiencing. Dr. Pearce thought I just needed a B-12 shot, so he gave me one. I do feel bettter, so that must have been the problem. I will post again when I have lost 100#s! God bless you all.

Hi everybody! I just got back from my monthly follow-up appointment with my surgeon. Everything is still going great - I lost 12 more pounds since my last appointment. Total weight loss to date: 83 pounds ... WOOHOO!

Hi folks ... haven't posted in a while, so thought I would update. I haven't weighed in a while so am not sure of weight loss at this moment. Last time I weighed I was down a total of 78 pounds. I went shopping this weekend and bought a few new clothes. I am in to 22s now. I know that is still huge, but when you started in 32s and 34s, 22 seems really small!!! Hubby and I both took a leave day and just goofed off today. Quality time - no kids around. Didn't do anything special, but enjoyed the day anyway. Life is good!

Hi everybody. I just got home from my checkup. I am 16 weeks post op and have lost a total of 73 pounds. I was experiencing a little stomach pain and was concerned, but Dr. Pearce said that it was probably twinges from surgical adhesions coming loose from the stomach. Apparently, this is fairly common and is nothing to be concerned about. I am having some hair loss, but it is not real bad. Also have some embarassing and just plain yucky things happening under "apron tummy" (e.g. yeast/sores ... ick). The doctor prescribed some cream for it and I'm sure it will be fine. I wanted to be sure it was documented, in case I have to have a panniculectomy later. I am thinking it might help convince the insurance company that this is truly a reconstructive as opposed to a cosmetic procedure. I don't really want more surgery, but at my age (43) and beginning weight (358), I don't think the old skin is going to snap back! Congratulations to all you new post ops and to those who have been approved. Good luck to those of you who are waiting. God Bless you all. {{{{{{HUGS}}}}}}}}

Hi all you wonderful AMOS folks!!!! Well, I finally made it back for my follow-up appointment with Dr. Pearce today. I was scheduled for January 17th, but the weather was bad and the roads were icy between here and there (3 hour drive), so I had to reschedule. Anyway, I have lost another 19 pounds for a total of 56.5 pounds in 10.5 weeks. I was a little disappointed, as I had hoped to dip below the 300 mark this time, but didn't quite make it. I weighed in at 301.4, so next time for sure!!! My son and husband said I was probably actually below 300, because I weighed with my clothes on. I told him no "weigh" I was getting on the scales naked at the doctor's office, and since I don't own any scales, it will just have to "weight" 'til next time. I can't complain about 19 more pounds gone, but really wish it had been more. I haven't been walking like I should, but the weather has been nasty, and so I haven't been very motivated to get out and walk. My doctor said that alot of the ladies like to walk in a mall during bad weather - but we don't have a mall where I live. The nearest one is an hour's drive away. I guess I will have to go power walk around our Wal-Mart Super Center a couple of times LOL! Thanks to all of you who have e-mailed me just to see how I was doing. God be with all you pre-ops and Congratulations to all the new posties. My heart and prayers go out to you post ops with complications - may God bring you comfort and healing. Note to Patty: Congrats on 4 weeks tobacco free. I just went over 9 months myself, and I can tell you - - the hardest part is behind you. It only gets easier. Type to ya' later.

Hi Everyone! I haven't posted in a while. I am feeling really well and have gone back to work. Of course, now I have less time to do "fun stuff" on the computer, like post to this site! Thanks to all of you who e-mailed to check on me since I hadn't posted in a while. I only weigh at the doctor's office, so I have no updated weight loss to report. Some of my clothes are getting kind of loose and I can get back into some things that had gotten too tight - - it is a great feeling to shrink back into some of your clothes. I see my surgeon on 17 Jan for a follow-up appointment, so I will update my stats after that. God Bless You All. Lynn
