I am a 36 year old white female. I have battled with my weight my entire adult life. My Mom, Aunt, Grandmother are all heavy, although my Mom has managed to get it under control. But not me, my husdand has bad arthritis, and we have our bedroom suite on the second level of our home. Early January 2001 I got to be thinking how would I take care of him, if I couldn't take care of me. I saw an ad in a magazine for the BTC, and the woman in the ad was named Dawn, procedure was covered by insurance, a light bulb went on in my head. I tore out the ad and stashed it in my purse for months, taking it out to look at it, reading all the small print but for some reason I really couldn't bring my self to make the next step. In May 2001, I finally did. And by the time I had done all my research and was commited to do this it was July 2001. I made an initial consultation appointment with the BTC, then told my husband. He was behind me 100%, whatever I wanted to do he would be by my side.
My consult appointment was 8/10/01. By 9/7/01 I was approved and had a surgery date of 10/24/01. I was so excited, however waiting is not one of the things I do best. To say the least I was a wreck those weeks.
Finally, my surgery date has arrived. 342lbs is what I weighed going into this. Anyone who has had the RNY-open prodedure, knows the day after you wake up and ask your self, what have I done to myself, you feel just terrible. But each day got better and easier. To make a long story short, as of today 7-weeks post-op, I have lost 51 pounds, and feel great. I now have a friend considering the procedure, and I can not recommend it enough. Dawn...

Hope everyone had a very happy holiday, usually every other Christmas I've gained weight, not this year... I lost two pounds on Christmas Day, talk about a gift!!! I was looking at clothes at the after Christmas sales, couldn't believe it, down to a 18-20, from a 26-28! I just looked, can't see buying anything right now. As a gift from my Mom she bought me a 1X red sweater, she said it might fit at Valentines Day. Christmas night after my son went to bed, my husband and I were going thru our gifts, and I tried on the sweater (just to see how tight it was...) My husbands eyes just about popped out, he said, Wow you have curves! I have what! I thought, went to look in a mirror and it really did fit, yet I look in the mirror and I still see me, when will I see a change when I look at myself?!?!?!?! Well hope everyone has a good New Year, I'll check back then... Dawn...

Happy New Year All! I am doing well, down 5 more pounds for a grand total of 56 pounds lost so far. I am very excited and thus the entry today. On Friday a very close friend is having her inital consultation with a surgeron in Wausau. Were meeting on Saturday to talk about it. I am so happy for her and want to reasure her this is the best thing she can do. Doesn't it make you feel good to be able to help others and share all this new information we know. I love it! Till next time, Dawn...

Well I've been stuck for about two weeks, that can be frusterating, but I know the scale will move, but when. I've now lost 62 pounds in 10 weeks. This is the start of my 11th week post op. I'd feel alot better if I didn't have this cold from hell. To say the least I feel like crap. It has been hard to eat every 2-3 hours, when I was well, and now that I don't feel well, even harder, but ya gotta keep it up to keep the weight coming off. I'll be starting my excersize program this week. Yep that's right 62 pound and no extra excersize. I have a Cardio Glider, It really helped when I was on a <20 grams of fat/day diet. Should do wonders now. I went thru all the old boxes of clothes, and they all fit for a short time. They are all size 22, althought I can wear an 18 also. I bought new underware and bras this past week, just enought for a week, it feels so good not having my underware creaping up by butt, because they are too big. I've started taking in my jeans, wearing stretch jeans, they are easy to sew in if you have a sewing machine. So far about 6 inches on the jeans. This should all get me to the summer months, when I'll really need to buy new summer clothes, I'll look silly in 4X+ clothes. Hope everyone has a good week! Dawn....

Hello everyone, well I have good news and bad news. First the bad, on Monday the 21st I lost my job. My position within a communications company was eliminated, effective that day. So now I am out hunting for a new one, wish me luck.
On a brighter note, today is 3 months since surgery, I went for my check up at the BTC in IL. I am doing so well that I do not have to go back until my year anniversary, they cut out my 6 month and 9 month check-ups. I still need to have my lab work done at six and nine months, just to make sure everything is still on track. I was very worried about my protien intake, as we all know it is hard to get enough if you can't stomach the supplements. However, the range you should be in is between 3.5 and 5.0 (range of what,I'm not sure) but I had a 4.5, so I guess I am doing something right. Other good news, I can have soda again!!!! I am very excited, I missed my Diet Dew! I can also use a straw and have a drink if I'd like, however, Dr. Berkowitz said I should be careful, I will get drunk quickly. My husband was excited and wanted me to have a beer with lunch! So far I have lost 65 pounds in just three months. I've been taking monthly pics and todays compared with the one taken the night before surgery are just amazing. I am so happy!
2/4/02
Well it has been an amazing week. I had four job interviews, three of them went very well, now I just have to wait. I also lost 11 pounds, in a week. Now I am down to 266, I feel and am starting to look pretty darn good. I know, 266, I am still big, but from 342, I've come along way. My spirit is high and no one can bring me down, I'm on a natural high! Dawn...
2/19/02
Well still no job, I've been on a third interview at a CPA Firm (this is the one I want)and a seconded at a healthcare facility. More waiting, my favorite thing to do... NOT!
Well other than than things are going well, I am down 92 pounds, 5 more days till my four month anniversary - I can't not believe I have done this well. My friend now has a surgery date... all those emotions of excitement came rushing back, I am so happy for her. I'm also helping another woman who contacted me thru this very site. She lives just down the street and has already had her initial consult with Dr. Berkowitz. She is so very scared. I am trying to get her to the state of excitement in really wanting to cross over to the other side. Seeing my success so far has helped her alot. It is a wonderful feeling to be able to help someone like I am. I hope each and every one of you can find someone to help over. Well I'll keep you posted... Dawn...
2/24/02
Four month anniversary and I have lost a grand total of 97 pounds, so close to that 100# mark. I guess I'm not doing to bad for the short time I've been on the other side. My husband took me away this weekend to a beautiful suite with a fireplace and hot tub in the room, it was wonderful. This procedure has helped in ways I never even thought it would. Below is my most recent pic. Hope everyone is doing well and keeps up the good work. Dawn....
3/26/02
Hello everyone, it has been over a month since my last entry. Things have been going pretty good, though I still have not found a job. I have reached and passed the 100# mark, to date I have lost 117 pounds in 5 months! Hard to believe, but oh so true! My energy level is so high, I can do things easily now that I used to have a hard time doing. I exersise about 4 times a week, between my Cardio Glider, treadmill and weights they seem to be doing the trick. (Don't want to mess with a good thing) Tonight I am going to meet two other women, one had the procedure done about two years ago, and another is having it on April 2nd. I love helping others, sharing my wonderful experience with WLS. I have 74 pounds to meet my goal, and that seems so easy to do, NOW. I had lunch last week with another women I found thru this site. She is 62 and had WLS. She is one wonderful lady, I wish her the best of luck! Well I'd better get going for now, I will check in next month and let you all know how I am doing, maybe employed by then!?!? Take Care... Dawn...
4/8/02
Well I am employeed!!! Finally! I was offered a position with Allied Construction on Tuesday March 26th. I start on the 16th of April. I am replacing a girl who doesn't know she is leaving yet. I know too bad for her, but Yippy for me! Scale has moved a little more since my last entry. Lost a total of 123 pounds, now I actually weigh what my drivers license says, 220, can you imagine that!! Speaking of the drivers license, yuck what an ugly fat photo. I will gladly pay to have a new one when I get to my goal weight, only 69 more pounds to go! My husband is starting to dry some of my size 18 clothes, as they are getting big... My friend is having her surgery this Thursday I am so very excited for her. Whell that is it for now, talk to at my 6 month anniversary!! Till then, Dawn...
4/25/02
Hello everyone, well it has been a whole 6 months since my surgery and here is the scoop on my total success to date. I have lost a total of 133 pounds, I now weigh 210. I took my monthly pictures and even I was impressed. I hardley even know the person in my before photo. My new job is great, I took a position with less stress, although I am no longer the boss in the office and I find this small office just right for me. My co-worker and I get along great, she reminds me alot of my Mom (who I love dearly) and we seem to have alot in common, we like jewelry, nice clothes, and our nails are always in top shape. (Just like my Mom) I also have helped start a local support group of women in my neighborhood who have had, or are interested in the surgery. We met at my house last Tuesday and had a great time. We plan to meet every two weeks. We have one women who had surgery three weeks ago and I think the bi-weekly meetings will help her progress, by the way she is doing great, almost 30 pounds gone in three weeks! My other friend up north is also doing great, she is losing pounds never to be seen again. One more thing. I told you about a women who contacted me about the surgery and is scared to death to have it done, she attended the meeting and gave me a gift. It was a gold charm with an angel on is. She said as she gave it to me, "This is how I see you, as my angel" Made me cry, it sure is wonderful how this site has brought so may people together... Thanks! Better get going. Take Care, have a great month!!! Till next time... Dawn...
06/12/02
Hello again, seems I haven't been here for over a month. Alot of things have happened in this time, most good. Lets see, for starters, I have passes the 200 mark, I said good bye to the 200's at the begining of this month. Now weighing in at 195, for a total loss of 147 POUNDS!!!! in less than 8 months! I would have never thought! I've had a few first, like buying my first nighty at Victoria Secret, and my first Harley Davidson T-shirt. I never fit into these types of clothing before, this new life is good! No problems with any type of food, can have small amounts of fried foods, and some sugar, but my snacks are still surgar free. Our support group is doing well and we are going to start a book for new members that join us, with all our new knowledge we can help alot of people understand and hopefully make the decision to cross over to the other side. I was at my father-in-laws retirement party and somone had taken a picture of my husband and I, it looks great, I'm having 5x7's made and actually am going to hand them out! Never would I have done that weighing 342. Hope all is good with all of you. Till next time! Dawn...

Hello all! It has been a great summer, I love the hot weather (this year, and am not looking forward to being cold all winter long)... I don't seem to mind this year, could it be because I have lost 162 pounds?!?!? Not carring around all the extra weight, sure makes a difference. When I lose 9 more pounds I will have lost one half of the old me! WOW! I am 10 months post-op with no major problems.... Now wearing size 14 clothes, can buy some size XL off the regular section racks, no more plus size department. Also wearing Body by Victoria Secrets underwear, just size LARGE... My husband enjoys going shopping with me, he likes to pick things out.... Our Support group has improved, we are now the Milwaukee Bariatric Treatment Center Support Group, and I am the Co-Leader. Anyone wanting more information, please feel free to e-mail me, I have a ton of information. If you live in the area and have had surgery at BTC, please e-mail, we'd love to have you join our group! Hope everyone is doing as well as I. Till next time... Dawn...

Happy Anniversary to ME! Tomorrow it will have been one year since I crossed over to the other side and what a journey it has been. I have lost 169 pounds! I feel fantastic! No more back pain, leg pain, feet pain. I can walk and walk. I even road a bike again, something I have not done since I was a child. I recently had a rummage sale and received one of the best compliments ever. I was selling all my old plus size clothes. One women was looking at the clothes, she looked over to my Mom and myself, and asked, "Who's plus size clothes?" I answered, "Mine." She said, "No really, who's clothes?" I can't tell you the huge smile that came over my face. To think she didn't see me as a big person. I no longer shop in the plus size departments, it is weird not going to that area of the stores. I almost felt sad when I left Lane Bryant last time, knowing I'd never step foot in that store again! I have alot of sagging skin, hoping to have reconstructive surgery next summer. I want to make sure I have lost all the weight I'm going to, so they can take as much of the skin as possible. I do have problems with the skin on my stomach and under my 'apron', so I am hoping insurance will cover the reconstruction. I'm afraid my arms and theighs I may have to live with. I know this too will be a slow process. Went to visit my friend in Wausau a few weeks ago, she is looking fantastic too. She is coming up on the 100 pound loss mark. I hope anyone reading this who may be considering surgery for your weight problem to e-mail me. I would love to help you get started on your own wonderful journey. Till next time! Dawn...
11/8/02
Hello Everyone! I just had to stop in and tell you it's official I have lost one half of my original body weight. I now weigh 171, and have lost 171. Now I can wear the t-shirt I bought from this site that says "I'm half the person I used to be!" The weight is coming off very slow now, but as long as it continues to come off and not go on, I will remain in heaven! I have altered my protien intake to about 60 grams per day. I was trying to get between 70-80 perday, but was told, that gram per day was based on my old weight, and would be fine with less. So this is my new plan, I used to eat 7-8 meals a day, trying to eat tons of protien at each meal. Now I'm eating 4 meals with as much protien as I can get in those meals, and 3 snacks, like apple sauce, crackers, SF cookies, etc... Something to get into my pouch, but not much protien or fat. The scale is moving again, but slower, so I think this is working. I'll keep you posted, as I've just started this as of the 1st of the month. I have new photos which I have e-mailed to Kricket. I am very pleased with my progress. Till next time... Dawn...
11/15/02
Well here they are finally my updated photos, hope these help others in making the decision that could save your life. Have a great day! Till next time.......... Dawn...
12/27/02
Hi All, well it has been a boring month! Not much of any weight loss, one pound! I guess one pound lost is better than one pound gained, right? Maybe I am reaching my own body's weight goal. This is fine by me. I am researching reconstructive surgery, and will then see how much it would cost to get rid of these bat wings... Just can't see going through all this and still not be able to wear tank tops. What to do with all this extra skin. I never thought this would be such an issue for me. Other than that everything is going well. We had a wonderful Christmas holiday and I am looking forward to the New Year, and all the exciting things we as a family will be able to do this year. I want to thank everyone who wrote me when my new photos were posted. It was hard to take all those compliments, but I tried... I had one compliment from a friend of mine who has gained some weight over the past year, mind you she still looks great, but this is what she said to me. "I don't want to weigh what "I" weigh, I want to weigh what "YOU" weigh." She has no idea how touched I was. For Christmas my wonderful husband got me a certificate to have new photos taken at Glamour Shots. I had done this once before after a successfull attempt at weight loss, and they did turn out great, but I no longer look like that person. So in a month or two, I will have them re-create me once again. Miss my support group buddies, we cancelled a meeting because of the holiday, can't wait to see them all in January. Should anyone have any questions, please feel free to contact me, we have two groups that meet once a month. The BTC Milwukee Support Group, meets the 2nd Tuesday of each month, and our WAL Group meets the 4th Tuesday of each month. E-mail me for more information! I wish everyone a safe and Happy New Year, and well chat in 2003. Till then....... Dawn...

Hello Everyone! Brr, isn't this cold winter the pits... I am always COLD! Well I have some very exciting news... First of all, I have lost two more pounds, bringing the grand total gone forever to be 174 pounds... Ok, back to reality, or is it? Yesterday I had a local TV news crew come to my place of employment and interview me for a news segment on WLS. It is the third part of a story on another WLS patient. She is about 6 weeks post op, and having some problems, four of us sat down and shared our stories. It is due to air on our local news on February 3rd. How this will change my life I have no idea, but if I can help one person make the best decision I ever did, it will be worth every moment. That is it till next time.... Dawn...
1/30/2003
Hello again, just a short note. This coming Monday I'll be heading to Wausau to sit in on my friends support group. They are having a plastic surgeon as their guest speaker. I am very excited to get his opinion on my situation, and see if he can recommend a good Dr. here in Milw. who can take care of my hernia, the reconstruction and remove my gall bladder, as I now have gall stones too! If I'm going to be down, I might as well get everything fixed at once! I'll let you know how the meeting went. Don't for get to watch FOX 6 at (9:00pm & 10:00pm on Monday 2/3/03 if your in the Milwaukee area. Till next time.... Dawn...
2/26/2003
Hello everyone, well it has been a bumpy ride since my last entry. Never made it up north, they had a major snow storm and the meeting was cancelled. Hopefully it will be rescheduled for June. Also on February 11th I was admitted into the hospital for a hernia repair operation. This was not scheduled. I went to the Dr on Monday the 10th, knowing I had a hernia and it was causing me pain. I thought she could push it back in and give me a binder to hold things in, and I would then find a reconstructive Dr, and one to repair my hernia, well that didn't work out either. I had major hernia repair. One area that I thought was bad, was only the begining, my surgeon said it looked like swiss cheese in there. I have a large sheet of mesh holding be back together. I have 5 new incisions with about 20 staples. I'm slowly getting back on track, but the mesh is bothering my insides. Everything is sore, and I can't lay flat, just like the old days sleeping in my recliner. It has only been 15 days, I know things will get better, but not fast enough for my liking. I am now used to being on the go, having tons of energy, etc... Did you watch Fox 6 news, I wasn't on for long, but it was great to help others learn of our experiences. Scale hasn't moved, which is good, as all I seem to be doing is laying around these past few weeks. I was afraid I'd gain a few pounds, but that didn't happen. Well I'll keep you posted as I recover, hope all is well! Till next time!..... Dawn...
3/26/2003
Hello again, another month has whipped by. I am feeling much better since my hernia surgery, however this is a slow healing process. I do not remember feeling like this after six weeks after my bypass surgery. Each day is better than the last, which is a good thing! Scale moved two pounds.. It hasn't moved in two months, I thought that was it, I was done. But we've had a few nice weekends, which brings people ouside doing alittle more than they usually do. So I am looking forward to summer, getting back on the bike and riding with my son. Going camping, etc... Maybe I can drop a few more pounds and then a tummy tuck once it gets cold again, don't want to waist the summer away in pain again! Who knows where I'll end up. Anything on top of where I am now, is a bonus! I am so happy. Not much else happening here in WI. Hope everyone is having a great year so far, I know I can't wait for spring, it is so close... but... Till next time! Dawn...
7/1/03
Oh my gosh, am I bad... I have not updated for several months, I am sorry. Life is so busy now, but I always want to touch base with this wonderful site. For all of you thinking of having WLS. JUST DO IT!
Let's see what' new. The scale has not moved, but still my body is shifting and changing. I bought a pair of "M"(size 10) capri pants off the clearence rack to wear after my tummy tuck. Just for kickers I tried them on, and I can get them on! They are very tight over my tummy, but I can get 10's on. I was so excited. Work is still a bore... Good money for what I do, so I just go along day by day, and live for 4:30! The fun begins then. In April we had to put our 15 year old Husky/Collie mix down, she was very ill. It was a sad day, and our Golden Retriever was lost. So about a month later we adopted a dog from the human society. A one year old black lab. Boy does he have the energy, so he is keeping the whole family on our toes. Now the older dog, looks at us as if to say, "OK, he can go back now, I'm tired!" I was in a small fender bender in my work parkng lot, it banged up my knee and neck pretty good, I've retained a lawyer, they were not very coopertive, so.... now they shall pay me more! On a sad note, our BTC Milwaukee Support Group has come to an end. For some reason we could not get anyone to attend our monthly meetings. I am still listed as a contact on the BTC web site for local support, but no meetings. On a good note, we've started our own support group, for ANYONE wanting to attend. We meet the last Saturday of each month at Mayfair Mall by the piano, and we have a web site. It is www.milwaukeewls.com If you get a chance check us out, and come to a support meeting, we have a great time, and do lots of outtings... I will try to get a new photo of me posted, I am now 20 months post op, and can't tell you how great this summer is going to be! Till next time.... Dawn...
8/28/03
Well Hello! This has been a fantastic month! The scale finally moved, after a 5 month or so plateau! I am down FIVE more pounds for a total loss of 182 pounds. Gosh three more and I will have lost what my husband weighs! I took on a very part time 2nd job that pays me cash. With my 1st payday, I bought myself a new bike, and my son and I go riding about 2-3 times a week, and that little additional exersise has made the difference! Well all the Harley's are in town for the 100th birthday bash. Maybe someday I'll have one of my own, now that I could ride one, I mean DRIVE one! Kids go back to school next week, I guess a sure sign summer is coming to an end. One of the best I've had in years! Till next time! Dawn...
10/8/03
Hello all! Well things are moving along.. In a little more than two weeks, I'll be TWO YEARS POST-OP!!! So hard to believe! I went to see a plastic surgeon last month, and he said I was definatly a canidate for the reconstruction. About 15 pounds of skin he see's he can remove. 15 POUNDS!!! Yippie! Not only will he cut from hip to hip, he will also open up my inital incision line and take from side to side also. Along with a tuck in my pubic area too! In May of 2002 I found out I had gall stones, which had formed since my October 2001 RNY. I asked if my gallbladder could be removed at the same time, he agreed it would be a good idea, so I go to see my other surgeon on the 22nd of this month to see if he can work with my plastic surgeon. I have already seen my primary doctor and she thinks it is a fantastic idea to do both at once. It would be just my luck to get the tummy tuck and then have my gallbladder act up! Other than that all is well, I hate my job - who doesn't. I've been trying to market myself as a Patient Advisor, to local hospitals or clinic, doing gastric bypass procedures. This is what I truly WANT to do with MY LIFE! Well, I'd better get going, I'll keep you posted on my next procedure! Till then!... Dawn...
1/16/04
Happy New Year to you all. I can't believe it has been three months since my last update. Alot of things have happened. Let's see the best news is I have a new job. I started on 10-28-03 at a manufacturering firm called Wire Specialists. I work with all men, which dose suit me just fine. I love it here and they seem to love me too. No stress, no crap from my bosses (I now have three great guys!), I just do my job, get thanked and go home... best part it is about 2 miles from home! I can see myself here for a very long time! Ok on my health... I was denied for a tummy tuck, the insurance company said there was no mention of infections under the apron... WHAT?!?!? I appealed and sent them all the photos my husband took of each infection during the past year or so, along with my medical records, and my appeal letter, I'll know on Feb 5th, so keep your fingers crossed. I also found out from my last Dr. appointment, that I do have more and bigger gallstones, so if this is approved I will also have my gallbladder removed at the same time. My Christmas and New Years was great, being more than 2 years post op now, and not gaining a pound over the holidays was a real gift. I've been feeling tired the past two weeks, and thought it was just the tiredness from after the holidays, but it seems I am getting some bug. This week I've been just going to work and home to rest, seems I can't seem to get enough sleep. I think this bug is winning, everyone I know is sick, tis this time of year! I'll post after I hear the review boards final decision on my tuck. Till then... Dawn...
1/28/04
GREAT NEWS!!! I am APPROVED for a tummy tuck, and gallbaldder removal. The two Dr.'s are speaking and I should have a date within the next two weeks. I am SOOOOOOOOOOOOO excited... I can not wait to get rid of this extra skin. I will keep you posted!
Dawn...
2/9/04
Well I have my date. 2/24/04! In two weeks I'll enter my final stage of this WLS journey. I am so excited, words can not describe. No more infections, no more smell, no more back pain, sleeping problems, etc... the list is long. They will also take my gall bladder too, but he will cut those incesions away. I am expecting to me home for two weeks, that is how long I was home for my open RNY, so I think I'll bounce back from this too, especially because I want this to happen, and I'm 182 pounds lighter - that alone has got to be easier! My next post will be after surgery, so keep my in your prayers. Till next time..... Dawn...
3/17/04
Happy St. Patrick's Day to all! Well I've had my tummy tuck and my gall bladder removed. The Gall Bladder was packed with stones, by surgeon took photos of it for me, it looked like a bag of marbles. Glad to be rid of that, I am lucky I did not get an attack, I hear they are not a pleasant thing to go thru. My plastic surgeon also removed 11 pounds of skin from my tummy are surrounding area. I am very pleased with my incision, and as of today three weeks post op, I still have a few steri strips on, stitches should start to disolve and be gone by 6 weeks. I went back to work on Monday, a bit much for me, I'll be taking 1/2 a day today and go home to get some much needed rest! It is amazing the new things I am feeling. Not having that 11 pounds of skin hanging in front, it sure has protected alot of things, and I feel new sensations everyday. I love my profile, I truley can not believe how thin this has made me. I have hips, quite curvie ones too! My husband just loves it. I'd highly recomment it to anyone, and if anyone needs help getting insurance to approve it, e-mail me. I was denied at first, but got them to pay for it. Till next time........... Dawn...

Hello all,
Well I'm more than three months post-op from the tummy tuck, and feeling pretty good. I've gone down two sizes, and don't have to wear my restrictive garment anymore, although somedays I still do. Life it so good, It is hard to believe that less than three years ago, I was so heavy I could hardly get around, and today, there is nothing that can stop me. Just wanted to check in and keep everyone up to date. I'll be posting a new photo soon!
Till next time...... Dawn...

Well is has been a couple of months since my last post. I have had my three year anniversary or re-birthday on 10/24/04. Other than having lost 193 pounds, I had a migrane that day, felt so crappy, this one only lasted two days. In September I walked for Obesity, in the National walk, it was great to get out there and walk for our cause. Our area raised over $7,000.00 for the cause, next year we are going to beat that amount. My local support group is growing by leaps and bounds. We are going to be moving to a new location in January 2005 to accomodate the larger group, also it will provide more privacy so we can hit some more sensitive issues facing us. Recently I had a scare, thought I had to have my apendix taken out, I was not ready for yet another surgery. I had major stabbing pain in my lower abdomin on the right side. Turns out after a ton of test, my surgeon thinks that one of the metal tacks he used to repair my hernia in 2/03 was torn away from my abdominal wall. I don't remember such an event, but 5 days later, the pain is weakening, so I guess I am healing internally. Thanksgiving will be here is less than two weeks, I hope everyone has a great Holiday and is very thankful for this wonderful tool we have been givin! Till next time..... Dawn...

Hello Everyone!
My how time flies when your having fun, at least really, really busy! I never knew life could be so full of activities. This month is my 4 year birthday. I recently had my physical and have gained 12 pounds over the last year, but I know why that is and in the next 6 months I can work on getting them off again! This year my husband started up his business again. He is the official track photographer at Lake Geneva Raceway. He are out at the track two nights a week. In April when we started I used to pack ham, cheese, sugar free jello & pudding, things I could eat. As the weeks and months passed, I lacked on this and as my son packed our Friday night cooler those things were not packed either, so I ate race track food. Taa-Daa, 12 pounds! Next year I'll know better and will continue my regiment of correct food to pack and eat! However I do have the vendor of ice cream supply me with a cool treat I 'CAN' eat there! OK, on to our support group. Milwaukee WSL is such a great group of people I am truley blessed to be a part of such a great group. We recently made an addition to our leader team, with a male leader. We think this will help our growth and address some issues us women don't understand. We also have a new meeting place, Johnny V's starting with our October meeting which also starts at 9am in the morning the last Saturday of the month. We simply have out grown our old location. If anyone is interested in attending, please feel free to e-mail me for more information! Till next time, stay on track you big losers!!! Dawn...

I guess it have been a few years since I have been here (aaa like "5"!!!) Things are going well, though I have gained 15-20 pounds which I am working on getting off. I know my tool still works. No soda for me, not a drink in 8 years. But I can tolerate more sugar... NOT GOOD!!! I've uploaded me pics, as well as some before ones. Promise not to be gone so long.
Till next time..... Dawn...
