This has been a LONG journey!
2 years, 9 months ago, I nearly died due to vomitting blood. Turns out I had esophageal varices. This was caused by a bad liver. After many tests...turns out I have NASH. I was told lose weight or risk a transplant in the future (5-10 years from now).
I did the weight loss stuff - lost weight under doc supervised diet Lost 160 pounds and gained it back - and it brought friends!
I have many of the tests done. Sleep study, A1C, bood work, Stress test, Upper endoscopy (Gastrocopy) (please forgive spelling).
I have seen 2 (really 3) different surgeons already - they declined me because I was too risky.
I went to Upstate (University) medical for their informational meeting. I also now have an appointment with one of the surgeons - WOOO HOO! Hopefully I'm finally on my way!
