Down 102 pounds in four months and feeling great!!!
Aug 05, 2011
Hi Everyone! Today is four months post op for me and I am down 102 pounds(25 pre op). I can't believe I have come this far. I feel great and have had no complications, no sickness, or any problems. To all of you just starting out hang in there! The first two months are rough but then it becomes your way of life. I do not even think about my surgery anymore...my daily life is back to normal and I simply just do not eat like I once did. The eating is easy now and it requires little effort to do what you need to do to stay on your Doc's plan. I stay away from fat and sugar and I do not even desire fatyy foods and sweets. I have a bite of foods I use to love once in a while but there is no real appeal for those things any longer. I went to my state's fair today and normally I would eat everything in site but I simply did not even think about eating all that junk. More money for me to spend on all the new gadgets at the fair! I did drink the fresh squeezed lemonade because it was so hot but I took it slow and had no problem. thanks for all of your posts - they keep me in touch with my innerself and keep me focused on why I did this life change.2 weeks post op

The first week post op was very difficult. The second week much better. I still need to up my water intake to 70 oz and do better on getting the protein up to 60 grams. I feel exhausted and very cold. I can do this...I can do this ...down 20 pounds at 2 week post op which is great. Surgeon says the feeling bad part- the poor vision, exhaustion, confusion - is due to not drinking enough water. So drink your water and you will fell better!!!!

The pre op class and pre adm testing really helped to settle me done about the surgery - I'm ready for my new life! Feeling determined and positive.
wondering what it's really like once home after WLS

Hi. I just received WLS approval. Excited but a little scared. Will be scheduling the pre op class & surgery soon. Does anyone have a checklist/advise for what to have ready when you first come home after surgery? What is it like right after surgery?
