"I called and explained that I had insurance and they were in my network. I explained that I would need to get insurance approval to pay for these procedures. I went to the appointment, she immediately looked at my skin and my breast, and said, you need major reconstructive procedures. I said yes, do you feel that with the rashes, all other issues, neck and back pain, the insurance will pay. Her response was to tell me, she did not know, however she would NOT pursue or help me pursue that as she was not willing to accept what the insurance would pay for her time. She went on to say there were doctors that would agree to that, but she was not one of them. Went into a spiel about how I would be "family" and receive the best care and this would be a "process" of 5-10 years and she would send her assistant in to discuss the fee. That was it, I asked, just to clarify as I was so distraught at her response, "even though your in my network you won't even try to work with my insurance" she again said, "no I am not willing to accept what they will pay me to do this procedure" Now I was to go out and write them a check for $80.00 for them to tell you sorry I can't help you unless you have $48,000 to spend! I do believe she is very good and probably and excellent surgeon, but only for those who have the means to self pay. "

"I did alot of research, I think he is a very competent and progressive surgeon. I have been very please with his staff and efficiency. The "all day" appointment covers generally everything including risk, and gives the opportunity for you to ask any question not covered. The only thing I think that might make the overall experience better is a least one actual encounter with the doctor after surgery. I was out before he came into surgery and haven't seen him since, that is a strange, detached feeling. I in no way doubt that I was in good hands, just not much "connection" with the man, who has your life in his hands!"

"I ran a fever for 2 days and have sleep apnea, I was in ICU the entire stay. The care was excellent. My doctors staff recommended that we not bring gowns and utilize the hospital gowns, however the hospital had a very difficult time locating larger gowns and I was continously asking for a larger gown. They were not well versed on the nutrition side, insisted that I should use a straw, and I was chastised for not eating more! Other than that it was the best hospital stay I have ever experienced."
