Finally, my date with the Dr.

The date has finally arrived and I am now 8 days post op. I have been waiting approximately 8 months for this surgery and thought the day would never get here. Well since my surgery date of August 22, i have had no problems or severe pain what so ever. The doctor was very surprised on how good i was doing. He removed my staples on day three and my drain on day 7, which was this Friday. My biggest hardship seems to be constantly thinking of food. Not being hungry, actually i have been feeling full or satisfied due to constantly drinking water and V8 juice. It is just when my brother, whom lives with me, cooks something i can smell all the spices and it kills me because the shakes, broth, and crystalite lack the taste my head is craving. So i don't give in and pound on. It would seem silly to give in after going through such a big ordeal. It is about 3 weeks of the shakes and so forth, then the puree foods for 2 weeks, and finally a regular diet, I think i can wait with some help from other GBP people to share stories and complications with.
