"I have been very impressed with Dr Borland from day one. He has a very good way of communicating which puts you right at ease. He schedules the consultations as the last appointment of the day so that you can spend as much time as you want and ask as many questions as you like. He does the VSG as an outpatient procedure because he feels that like other surgeries that have been moved to outpatient, you reduce the risk of blood clots when you do this. After having my surgery as an outpatient I think it is just how it should be. I had discomfort but no real pain so i don't think a hospital stay was necessary. He does require that you stay local for 2 nights so that he can check on you. Dr Borland made 3 House calls to me, imagine a Dr today that does house calls! Overall I would rate him very high in both his surgical competence and his bedside manner."
